    Hasbro Q&A - Fall Edition

Hasbro has the answers to fan questions...

YoJoe!: With G.I.Joe Renegades right around the corner, has the decision been reached as to which aesthetics will be used for the line, animmated or realistic desgns?

Hasbro: G.I. Joe product inspired by characters and themes from the upcoming G.I. Joe Renegades series on the Hub will be available in Fall 2011. The figures will be offered in the Pursuit of Cobra line and will have the highly-detailed, realistic look of the line

YoJoe: Could you tell us a little more about the design philosophy behind Pursuit of Cobra? The environment-specific concept is interesting. Does the production team have anything to say about what resources and creative material they sought out during the conceptualization phase of design? One example: We enjoyed speculating about Jungle Viper's rifle origin, and his ultra-modern ghillie suit was also a nice surprise.

Hasbro: The team often times draws its influences from ordinary sources. It is within the world around us that the most unusual and unlikely concepts emerge, when concepts that seem understood are stood on their end and looked at in a new perspective: great new ideas are born. Outside of this broad scope type of design, the team looks at new, uncharted waters and new technologies that the G.I. Joe and Cobra teams could (plausibly) employ to take their epic battle to the next level. Characters like PARA VIPERS, JUNGLE VIPER, and SHADOW TRACKER fill gaps in the Cobra Regiment for example, and help to further broaden the fantasy.

YoJoe!: The upcoming Urban Battle Destro appears to be wearing an outfit reminiscent of the Black Widows from the 80's cartoon/toy line “Spiral Zone”. Was this the inspiration for this figure, or just a happy coincidence?

Hasbro: We have not seen that cartoon. It must be a happy coincidence.

Wait.... PoC is not going away when Renegades hits? This answer makes it look as if there will not be Renegades branded line of toys. "offered in the Pursuit of Cobra line" that sounds to me like PoC is sticking around. Yippee!

Read the answers to some of the other boards and saw that the wave 3 Snake Eyes will indeed come with two heads. No variant fig for him! Another Yippee!!

They also gave a humorous response to the question of Beachhead's empty knife sheath on another boards Q&A:
"This was a mistake. The figure was originally supposed to come with two knives but the mistake was caught too late to fix. But, now that you mention it, some spec-operators do have several sheathes or holsters on their vests to give them options in combat. So…yes - it was planned to be empty... "

reposting the link to all Q an A:

    http://www.generalsjoes.com/qanda.html

So Hasbro denies ever seeing spiral zone, and any links to Predator, I wonder what they will deny as inspiration next?

a lot of boards asked the same question which to me is a good thing, it shows Hasbro that we really as a whole collector base are interested in knowing the same thing.
black hiss should be out soon but no way to know its a black hiss.
perhaps EE and BBTS and etc could pop em open to tell us for sure??
Beachead's weaponry, hmm I would have just said it was missing because it was errrm...used.
7 packs under consideration..methinks it is time for a poll.
    No more comic packs.
army builder packs, it is simple Hasbro you don't need to do a 5,6,7 pack just do a TWO pack. you would sell bunches.
no plans for female figures? what about Renegades? 3 of the main characters are female!
