"Pyramid of Darkness" is a horrible horrible mini-series.
Strangely I missed it in my youth when I used to watch the cartoon series on TV.
I finally got to see it recently.
If I had to rank the mini-series/movies, I'd go:
#1 Revenge of Cobra -- absolutely my favorite!
#2 A Real American Hero aka MASS Device -- classic!
#3 Arise Surpentor Arise -- not quite as good as the above two, but still great.
#4 GI-Joe: The Movie -- well done (despite the Cobra-La cheesiness)
..
..
..
..
way in the distant last position: #5 Pyramid of Darkness
Seriously?
- Fatal Fluffies
- non-lethal LAVA
- Snake Eyes breakdancing
- Snake & shipwreck dancing a can-can and dressing as women
- control cubes (no background explanation to how they were conceived, designed, etc.)
- Destro buffing "lava" off his face with a disc-sander/polisher.
That mini-series seemed sloppily done. It felt like the "multi-front, multi-quest" story format of the first two mini-series was emulated just for the sake of it, with no real thought put into a decent plot or enjoyable action sequences.
