The end of the arrow accessory has a little nub on it. The little nub fits snugly into the open hole on the Hard Master's chest to simulate... well... an arrow being shot into his chest "through an open window"; just like in the comic book!

Added a pic. It's always a little strange when Hasbro makes a feature that allows you to "kill" that toy.
