new comic 3-packs released ... or ebay scam?

while looking for comic packs 6,7 and 8 I came across this guy's auctions instead - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2467&item=59601907 78&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

I was surprised to hear that they had already been released ... but then I noticed that the picture he has up looks suspiciously like it has a toyfair background and is marked with mastercollector.com.

The charitable view is that he doesn't have a digital camera and this was the best way to show them on the auction. You can all guess what the uncharitable view is.

Just a heads up. If anyone knows that this guy is above board it would be nice to know.

whoa, sketchy. i bet what he is really doing is charging an arm and a leg, anticpiating that he can get these packs, maybe through a contact at store, or whatever.
then he delays shippnig the packs. -- getting your money in advance so he can buy them at reg price later.

*****ANY ebayer worth anything would explain WHY they are using someone else's photos. even if he has a legit reason, he is sketchy for not saying so.

And he seems to have good feedback. Not great at 55, but it IS 100% positive, so not that bad either. He makes it sound like he has them already, probably bought a case either thru a comic shop or online retailer.

There is also a Vegas sighting in regionals, so maybe?

oh, the pack is around here, but it s gone as soon as it hits the shelves.

i've missed at least 2 stockings of it at all stores local.

My buddy RasOneJ lives in Cali & picked up the new comic packs, so I'm sure they are out, at least on the coast.

I agree he has positive feedback but it is all from Sellers. He has not had buyer feedback since April of last year. If he had more feedback that was recent for hard to find items, I'd be more inclined to bid on it.

As it stands I'll have to "Watch this Item"...and see how anxious/impatient I get in 5 days.

you betcha Blaylox...I just picked them up today too. I just been out all day to post here to let everybody now.

Man..my jaw dropped when I saw these at the store. I was like WTH..these are out already. I have to say that I'll miss going to the stores and finding goodies like this.

There freakin bad!! The storm shadow looks so much like original. The firefly is nice too. I got all three sets.

Does anyone know whether they are releasing a decent run of these (as opposed to the lower numbers for packs 6,7,8)? And has anyone seen them in Ohio (I'm a few thousand miles away but that's where my connection is) or at any online stores - i can't see anything at smalljoes or gijoehq but maybe I'm not looking hard enough?

I'm inclined to go with Thorn's comment - it seems a bit dodgey but there could be a reasonable explanation. As it is I'm just really happy to know that they're finally out! I'm even happier because quite apart from the figures, I can get two comics I missed from my collection - #21 and #24. The genius at Hasbro who thought up comic packs deserves a big, wet, sloppy kiss from me.

ps for you lucky, lucky West Coast people, how much are these going for retail?
