Jungle Viper Cancelled?

There's a very reliable source over at Htank who is reporting that he has gotten word that the POC Jungle Viper has been cancelled.

This could be a problem with tooling, a decision to postpone him for whatever reason, the entire lineup is being cancelled for lack of retailer support or it could be a rumor/scam.

I know alot of people were looking forward to him and thought they they might like to know this.

Thanks for the info.

I for one, am hoping this rumor is true. That figure is just ridiculous looking and doesn't really fit into GI Joe imo.

Jungle Viper. No big loss. The weird camoflauge was like a rip-off from Metal Gear Solid. Although, the rest of the figure had great potential to be a PoC Night Viper. I think Hasbro should take the figure, ditch the camo, add some appropriate accessories, and sell it as a Night Viper.

Is this the figure that was coming in the Target exclusive with the Whirlwind? And if not is that still coming out?

He put it with a question mark because he wanted to dig deeper with the contact to be sure. Further information today revealed that it was a mistranslation. What he thought was canceled actually was more akin to retooled or changed. So this figure is not canceled.

Yes, Roshan that is correct. (Like your Htank avatar btw)

It appears this is going to be retooled, most likely the ghillie suit. But possibly other changes as well.

I wonder if other changes are coming with the POC stuff?

Well so far we have all the head retools (duke, zartan, destro and Ripcord). This unknown retool, and from the sounds of it we might be getting a retool of the Elite Ice Viper and Shadow Tracker head if they are dropping all movie head sculpts since those are all Neo Viper heads.

Jungle Viper

I think it's a phenomenal figure for its uniqueness. Wicked hi-tech looking with the three scopes, like something out of Predator.

I absolutely agree... it almost looks as if the "Plant" parts would have servos and be able to wrap around him when he needed cover, and collapse back when he needs to move. I hope they make him

The figure is fantastic in my opinion. It's a Cobra army builder that I don't have and have a use for. Most of the jobs have been covered by the ones that have already been released. I still would like to see ones like Techno-Viper, Toxo-Viper v2, etc. That PoC Alley Viper looks good, too. I like the colors better.
