Ultimately it is your decision, but I wouldn't open the case if it is the 1986 Milton Bradley set since cases of these cards are very difficult to find (I lucked out and found one on ebay but it cost me $200+). The 1987 Comic Images unopened case is probably the next rarest (based on ebay auctions) but you can definitely get one for $20 or less. I see the 1994 Comic Images 30th Salute cases and the 1991 Impel cases all the time on ebay so I would definitely open those if that is what you have. To quote Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars, "You should do what you think is right, of course."
