With Hasbro updating their website with new BTR, it seems like the wait for new sets may be over soon.

GI JOE HEADQUARTERS ATTACK With A.V.A.C. & SNAKE EYES Figures

GROUND STRIKER With FLINT Figure

PATRIOT GRIZZLY With HI-TECH Figure

COBRA HISS TANK With COBRA COMMANDER Figure

VENOM STRIKER With FIREFLY Figure

SLEDGEHAMMER With HEAVY DUTY Figure

Would you buy any of these? Are they going to be $1.99 at TRU again late next year? Thoughts? Opinions?

Definitely getting them, have some on the way.

Also of note from the website, the Rapid Runner with Chief Torpedo (http://www.hasbro.com/pl/page.viewproduct/product_id.15160/dn/btr/default.cfm) and the Night Prowler with Shadow Viper (http://www.hasbro.com/pl/page.viewproduct/product_id.15153/dn/btr/default.cfm) are shown in the new style box packaging, so we may finally be getting these.

Distribution has been VERY spotty so far, I only know of a few of the new sets showing up in Oklahoma.

I used the customer service thing on the Hasbro site to ask about them, but got the basic canned answer as to where they are available.

I'll probably pick up the HISS, and maybe the HQ once it hits clearance racks (just because I want that AVAC).

I'll pick up all of them if and when they hit clearance, but I will definitely be getting that base right off the bat, because it looks really cool (I can just play off the lego junk as being a result of a prefab base) and also 'cause that avac figure looks awesome. If it ever goes on clearance you can bet I will buy a ton and make a massive base and hoard all of the cool avac figures. I just wish there was an easier more effective way of getting rid of the darn pegs from the figures forearms and legs.

While that Joe Base is looking pretty nice.. as are many of the vehicles (like that HISS tank  ). I personally won't be buying any of these BTR kits. I'm not knocking em... just not interested in covering that much of the GI Joe merchandise. I'll continue to stick with just Figures and small vehicles that interest me as well as Video releases and possibly more comics (which is a majorly small subset of the overall line of GI Joe products). I don't have the space for any more than what I am interested in :o

I love em. I can't get over how better designed they are compared to some of the early Joe/Cobra vehicles IMO. I was always worried about how I was gonna incorporate them in with my other joes. Heck the way it's going they are gonna be in their own little world. Thanks for the awesome links guys!

I really like some of them, most of all the Hiss. The figures are pretty nice, too. They just cost too much for me to buy at regular price. I will pick up some figures that I am iffy on just because I like who they come with or think I might like them later, but vehicles and BTR are just too expensive for me to do that. I guess what I am saying is that I would rather buy three comic packs than one large BTR set.

The only way I'll be a BTR is if it's a Soviet made BTR-50P (http://images.google.com/images?q=BTR-50&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi), BTR-60 (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&q=BTR-60), BTR-70 (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&q=BTR-70), BTR-80 (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&q=BTR-80), BTR-90 (http://images.google.com/images?q=BTR-90&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi), or variants there of, that aren't made of building blocks. Believe me, BTR doesn't mean Built To Rule.

If i wanted lego's i'd get lego's. this stuff will just end up in dollar general's like the rest. it's a poorly executed idea b/c it's either not Lego enough, or should just be like the old vehicles w/ drivers that had parts that could be snapped together like model kits.

I think I'll get the Hiss and the Headquarters. I just wish the Hiss came with an Army Builder. All the others I am not interested in. At least if I don't like them I can give them to my 7 year old kid brother he loves legos. :)

Stay on topic please

Don't take it personal, we just should have a side topic on those. While they are plenty interesting, they deserve their own topic.

i plan on picking them up, but i would be very surprised if the vast majority of these sets didn't hit clearance....i mean, why the hiatus if the product hasn't changed much?

are these sets any diff than the first round really?

Well, I would say the tanks look like there was more work done in designing them.

And the HUGE difference we wouldn't be able to see in the pics - the quality of the bricks.

Lego has owned the construction toy world for a long time. Even though contruction toys in general are in a bit of slump, Lego is still the measuring stick for other companies.

One reason Lego is so popular is they work - they stick together. A lot of the knock off brands like Mega Blocks fall apart by basically blowing on the toy. I cannot stand Mega Blocks.

The Hasbro BTR bricks while better than Mega Blocks, aren't that great either.

Art Asylum when creating their C3 line, took this into consideration. I built the Batmobile this weekend. The instructions were aweful but when I was done, I was very impressed how solid it came out. I can pick it up and play with it without having pieces break off.

So if Hasbro used this time off not only to re-evaluate and re-market this brand but also took the time to re-work the bricks, we may end up with a much superior construction product.

I for one hope they re-worked those bricks.

Gimme, Gimme, GIMME!!!! :D

My son >ahem< loves the BTR stuff. My wife is a Lego fanatic - and these
are close enough. Nice thing about being a toy collector - nobody
has to wonder what to get me for Christmas - they just send me KB and TRU gift cards. And if I hold on to those gift cards long enough, all of the playsets listed will be on clearance! BWAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!!!!

>koff< Sorry-too much caffiene this morning. :D

That's good to hear. I bought all of the C3 line so far but haven't opened any of the vehicles of yet. Just fearing they might break up and I would lose peices.

I'm waiting for the GI Joe Lincoln Log base to come out. I don't care for the BTRs.

According to Billy T. at JoeSightings.com, they are now beginning to show up at TRU stores. Anyone else seeing them yet? Curious if they are a test market release or full fledged release.

If any of you get additional copies of the BTR headquarters, I want a Snake Eyes! I don't collect BTR, but I do try to get every Snake Eyes mold. If any of you want a base and 2 AVACs, I can help defray the costs, or trade you something...
