I'd also call it proof that the Dollar General $7 vehicles are intended to liquidate overstock in Hasbro's warehouses.
I hit my local DG a few days ago, the worst one in the area, it never has anything. They only had 2 of the $7 Vipers with Venom Cycles. That was it, just those 2, BUT they didn't include Vipers. Instead they included Neo-Vipers. They appear to be overstock from the single pack Neo-Vipers, and they show no indication whatsoever that they have been replaced.
To make things even weirder, their date code is 42311. That's a full 19 days BEFORE the 2 Venom Cycles I picked up that have the correct Vipers in them. The correct versions have 42501.
I have since found other Venom Cycles with the 42311 date codes, but with the correct figure.
I know on the surface one might assume someone simply switched out the figures, which is somewhat easy to do on these boxes. But as I said above there is no indication at all that that they were switched out. The figures are dead mint, and all the twisty tie's, and tiny little rubber bands are firmly in place and hard to get to. Further more there is a very slight paint variation on the figure. The yellow part of the belt buckle is painted much smaller than the single card version.
Has anyone else spotted any of the Dollar General $7 vehicles, or the Family Dollar $10 vehicles with the wrong (but perhaps appropriate) figure?
