I just received some Swedish Joe / ACTION FORCE comics.
Very funny to try reading through it :)
Although the books are in Swedish theirs a price included in Finnish.
So I'll have to ask what it is exactly.
Some names are entirely different in Denmark.
Quick Kick is for example named: Stålfod :)

But If anyone is interested in Comic nr: 7 from 1990 from Sweden should let me know. It's not in superb condition but still fun to have in your collection. I 'll make scans soon, I'll have to add it to our archieve so I'll post the pics right here right away as our site is still......yes still....under construction.

I believe a lot of people in Finland understand Swedish.

I'm certain I had that sticker book as a kid, dont recall the names were changed though. All the figs I remember seeing in stores here were in English packaging and even in the cartoons I have seen with danish speech the names were still the original ones. Btw if you haven't guessed "Stålfod" translates into "Steel foot"... :)

Ah that makes sense. The prices are both in Finnish and Swedish.

Do you have any Danish comics of gijoe? I would love to see or buy some.
Comics sometimes use different names.
Here in the Netherlands Leatherneck was called "Tor" but in the comics he was called "IJzervreter" and strange enough later the figure Iron Grenadier was translated and sold as "IJzervreter".

If I give you the names I found could you roughly translate it for me?
It would be fun.

I'll PM you about the comics, I believe I have a couple of extras.

Yeah just post what you would like me to translate and I'll do my best.

Well I guess I should pay more attention... Watched an episode of the cartoon last night and at least some of the vehicle names were translated directly into danish:

Dragonfly = Dragefly
FANG = Hugtænder

There was no change in the names in the danish comics, i have them all and i have checked no name was changed, only here in Denmark, we called G.L.Joe for Action Force like in England.

True, or at least 99% true ;) The Pit is referred to as "Reden" (translates back into English as "The nest") but apart from that there really are no general name changes, only a couple of inconsistensies here or there.

Indeed, actually it seems like most small action figures are considered to be Action Force here, at least at flea markets. 12" figs are referred to as GI Joes though.

I forgot about Reden, and the Cobra Island was called Cobra Øen.

And i actully think that the Joe who wrecked everything by just thouching it, also had another name.

And offcourse didn't B.A.T mean the same.

A robot in danish is a robot

Battle Android and then i don't remember what the T stands for.

Candy has also had her name changed into the danish word, but it was the same meannig in both langues.

>>>hmm sorry but who is Candy?<<<

Candy was the daughter of a Cobra scientist and Ripcords love interest. She's also known as Bongo the Balloon Bear but that's a totally different story... :)

I get to see Pippi everyday now :)
My sister's daughter loves Langstrumpf or how we call it here Langkous :P hehe

I just recently saw der Grunne Slagers (the green Butchers)or something like that with Mad Mikkelsen.

Very funny movie!
As well is Pelle erobreren!
With good old Max von Sydow.
Very good Danish movie :)

Scandinavie just has so many movies for kids. And they are all good :)

First it's Mads Mikkelsen and the movie is called De grønne slagter, but i like more I kina spiser de hunde og Blinkende Lygter.

Many kid movies are ok, but spectacular. Spelled Wrong

They changed her Codename a little, Candys, that is...Her name was Candy Ballon Bjørnen.
