Who has the Thundercats toy license?

I heard that Mattel bought it so people couldn't use it to compete with the MOTU line but that line went so well.

Anyone know anything about this? I sure would like new Thundercats figures.

As of right now, I don't believe anybody has the rights. There was some noise late last year when a company called "Shocker Toys" was apparently quite interested in getting the license, but last I heard they were still wrangling with Warner Bros. over it (Warner owns the rights to the Lorimar TV library, including the cartoons TCats, silverhawks, and Tigersharks). Warner has not been cooperative in the matter, likely because Shockertoys doesn't have the name power Art Asylum and other companies have.

But I know Mattel doesn't have it, nor do I believe they would be interested in it unless a new cartoon is produced. I think Mattel has first options to new DC/Warner properties, but they don't have access to the old stuff.
