so who are your favorite gi joe characters

Mine are obviously the killers
firefly- hes just an awesome character he has no morals just a hired killer
maybe not the brightest character but damn good at what he does and very versatile

zartan- zartans awesome hes intelligent, strong, vicious, and a great leader,in
my opinion hes a good match against CC and Destro anyday he just dosent get as mych credit as he deserves but his main past kills have all been ppl who were very powerful in the joe verse such as serpentor or the hard master

on the good guys side

beachhead- although hes kind of a weirdo hes also pretty much the ultimate soldier , he may very well be the strongest SOLDIER in gi joe

Snake eyes- well i dunno a ninja commando soldier , you just can't keep the guy down its snake eyes how can he not a be a favorite



new characters

kamakura- hes new hes young and hes strong he also shares in the same kind of tragedy as SE

Wraith- so many ppl seem to hate him, but hey i like the guy
a french assassin whos now pretty much the cream of the crop
soon as he throws on that suit he turns into pretty much the ultimate field agent

Yeah I know it's probably trite but my eleven top favorites are the classics: Snake-Eyes, Firefly, Storm Shadow, Cobra Commander, Cover Girl, Spirit, Zartan, Stalker, Scarlett, Destro, and the Baroness. In my opinion these are some of the greatest characters ever created. They are all quite complex and I never get tired of stories involving them. We need more Stalker origin stories, more Firefly missions, and more about Cover Girl's choices to become a soldier versus a supermodel. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

New guys? I like Wraith. I like the fact that Snake-Eyes has to take the number two physical combat spot for awhile--it adds depth to his character and should bring out some of his cunning and intelligence in subsequent battles with Wraith.

Joes:

Shipwreck- Tough as nails sailor with an eye for the ladies. Plus he's almost as cynical as me.

Beach head- As stated, one tough cookie and and a flat out no-nonsense guy. A soldier that I would want beside me for sure!

Torpedo- a master diver, nuff said!

Snow Job- Gotta love cold weather!!! He can play people to his advantage, plus he gets the chilly assignments- awesome!


Cobra, et al:

Firefly- if morality goes out the window, so should loyalty. He's good at what he does, is more professional than most of cobra, and contains just the right amount of mystery to keep from being monotonous.

Zartan- (I know, the cobra list is sounding like a broken record, but hey- cool is cool). He runs things with cunning, can scrap, and has a "domain." Plus he's a merc which is the way it should be the the skills he possesses and the lack of die-hard ideals.

Cobra Commander- Because Serpentor is an abomination!!!

The Snow Serpents- Cold weather, sweet gear, EELS+, and NOT Serpentor!




Truth is, I like most of the JOES and COBRA, but I figured I would limit the list...Dang, now I feel guilty.

favorite from comic: chuckles (seriously. he, out of all the joes, most represented the 'special missions' series, which I thought had the best reads by far)

Outback (he was so cool in the comic in the few arcs and issues he was in. His figure is still one of my favorites.)
Tripwire (I liked that he was a klutz except when working with explosives)
Airborne (second version. that gun was just so sweet.)
Scarlet (great character in comics and cartoons)
Hawk (that smirk and he was a total BA in the cartoon)
Shockwave (great design except for his melon head)
Lightfoot (I don't know I just liked his over all design)
Leatherneck (as a kid I never had him and he rarely appeared in the comic but watching the cartoons again made me realize how awesome he is)

For Cobra
Zandar (one of my favorite figures. I liked him so much he was rarely a bad guy. Mostly worked as a mercenary)
Destro (I first had version 2 so I always saw Destro as this powerful general with cool threads)
Crocmaster (he went everywhere with me.)

My favorite is Beach Head. When I first saw his action figure I fell in love. Then I loved him even more because of Marvel issues #47 and #50.

Other favs are Snake Eyes, Firefly, and Zartan. These characters all had a mystery to them just like Boba Fett in Star Wars. Love them all!

Clutch - his stubbled face and smart-@ss , chauvanistic ways just appealed to me as a kid for some reason, (probably not healthy as I was about 8 years old at the time)

Breaker - if you're going to like Clutch, you have to like Breaker. I mean, how can you not like him?

Mutt - my favourite figure when I was a kid

Dusty - my second favourite figure - I loved his desert gear

Steeler - part of the three amigos, (along with my numbers 1 and 2). I really hope Hama touches on this again in Declassified

Rock 'n' Roll - he received no love in the cartoon but has been a comic mainstay for many years - great team guy

-Slice: British ninja who quotes A Clockwork Orange. Doesn't get much better than that.

-Serpentor: While the cartoon version of him was fairly goofy (...of course, he still looked downright dignified next to Cobra "Bozo the Clown" Commander), the comic version had a lot of potential

-Headman: I'm on a roll, aren't I? Say what you will about the goofy "SAY NO TO DRUGS!" message tacked onto Headman and the Headhunters, he really is a villian that makes sense. Why WOULDN'T cobra have underworld crime connections?

Joes:

-Mercer: Everyone loves a turncoat.

-Spirit: I especially like what they did with him in the DD arcs.

-Snake Eyes: Yeah, sue me. I like ol' hamburger face.

Not given a lot of exposure, but still the greatest character.
Mercer: Dunno why really, cos his moral code is pretty shoddy but I just love the idea of an ex Cobra helping the Joes.
Spirit: Always been one of my favourites but DD have done a great job in updating/fleshing out his character.
Zanya: Great backstory, the Nok Princess.
Destro: What can I say, Im a patriot! I love both the fact hes a Jock and his sense of honour, even though hes technically evil.
