In my never-ending search for G.I. Joe paperwork I've made a friend in Brazil! Among other things I managed to pick up a Brazilian promo folder/flyer from him. I scanned the two middle pages and tried to merge the images together and it is close but just a little off. It still looks better than having the two pages apart. Anyway, check it out and let me know what you think!

If I ever get time I plan to post a ton of paperwork here, probably starting with U.S., Mexican, and Canadian Fan Club paperwork. Keep checking!

Fabio,

That would be great! I'm sure people would at least like to know the main sentences and phrases. Thanks, Fabio!

Well, I'm not Fabio but I think I can help :D And sorry for my poor english :(

First one: Prepare yourself. You're going to be invaded.

Second: (title) See here the new adventures of TV Comandos.

(text) The new Comandos will atack in every place. Estrela has created a strong advertisement campaign with an ad in a children magazine and two 30'' movies that will appear in all Brazil, in the best times and TV channels. And to give some help a Comandos em Ação cartoon will be show weekly in TV Globo (note: Brazil's greatest TV channel), with unseen adventures for all the children. Prepare yourself, because the Comandos em Ação will be in all places, being the most sucessful thing in 1987.

Third: (title) In this year, the Comandos will invade your store with much more emotion and adventure.

(incredible small text) Estrela put in your hands a great force to attack the market(?): Comandos em Ação. A group of friends that become united to fight against a commom enemy, Cobra, that never attacks alone. Totally articulated and with super accessories, their measurements and flexibility were carefully studied to provide a great number of positions. Since then, the play never had an end. The collectors of adventure (note: Comandos em Ação were sometimes called that, see in your carded ones the phrase "Os Colecionadores de Aventura") quickly gained children's preference, looking for them when they (Comandos) arrive in the stores, to have more complete and thrilling adventures. In 87, the heroes, enemies and their new vehicles will enforce the Comandos em Ação collection, forming the most powerful gang(?) that you never saw in the service of children's adventures.

(bottom part) New Comandos em Ação.

Well, I think it's something like that. I have all the toys in this folder in my small collection, by the way. And I have the children's magazine ad that is mentioned (and show) in the first image. It's in the back cover of the first Comandos em Ação comic book. I think Yojoe.com has a picture of it...

As far as I know, they were given to store owners, like a catalog of the new toys avaliable from Estrela, and never reached the consumers. It's the third one I've seen: the first one was about the 1985 figures, including the Asa Delta ones, all with nice pictures. I saw it in a site made by a action figure store owner, which no longer exists. The second one was the 1984 figures and vehicles, and it was being sold on a auction site at a very expensive price. But I never see one personally, they're somehow difficult to find nowadays.

 That's an incredible find. How rare is it to get one from the US Dan, but noooo. . .you gotta get an Estrela dealers catalog!!! :D

Great job on the translation Corredor! My fave line is, "In this year, the Comandos will invade your store with much more emotion and adventure." :D

This is what the forums are about. Coming together (any way we can) to add to the online museum!

PJ,

My sentiments exactly. I learn a lot reading posts to the forums and I want others to do the same with my posts.

Shane, I got this folder from a guy who lived near to me back in the days. He worked as a graphic artist and had access to this kind of stuff. I have never seen another folder like this, and that is why I had a little "hard time" letting it go. But I feel it is in good hands now with Dan the "archive man"! ;o)
