View Full Version : GI JOE arcade game by Konomi in 1992
borkbork 06-24-2005, 09:17 AM I don't know how many of you remember this game but it was a lot fo fun. It has a lot of the late 80s early 90s figures and vehicles in it. The first boss is Metal Head! I forgot this even existed until I got Mame and got the rom for it. Very cool game!
Liokaiser 06-24-2005, 09:52 AM Metalhead the first boss, hmm I coudla sworn he showed up later but i haven't played in awhile.
The other bosses I know were the Twins, Baroness, Destro and then CC
You picked from Duke, Scarlett, Snake eyes (the one with blue), and Roadblock to play as. Pretty much a shooter but still fun.
borkbork 06-24-2005, 10:18 AM You are right The twins were the first then Metal Head. You choose from Scarlett, Snake Eyes, Duke and Roadblock. It is pretty cool shooting Alley Vipers, v2 Bats and Techno Vipers though.:D BE careful witht he bats they blow up after you shoot them:eek::D
goodguyswearblack9 06-24-2005, 02:13 PM There's a Joe arcade game I don't know about? I'd sure like to have that rom guys so if you wouldn't mind sending me it I'd appreciate that. I'll have to look for the machine on ebay if I like the game.
Ridureyu 06-24-2005, 04:02 PM I love this game. It has a higher bodycount than Doom.
Ridureyu 06-24-2005, 04:03 PM You also forgot Major Bludd and the Terror Drome.
drveovru2 06-24-2005, 04:10 PM yeah, i like it, the game play sucks by todays standard, but it was great for the 90's... i have the 4player version with original side art...you use to find the jamm boards on ebay alot, but it seems they are becoming hard to come by.
yojoebro82 08-02-2005, 08:03 AM Yeah, one of my local comic shops actually HAS that game. It has a sign that says "Play at your own risk", so I guess it eats quarters. Wish I had room for one.
RedSkullCobra 12-27-2010, 10:35 PM I wish the makers of the "Call of Duty" series could make a G.I.JOE game where you can shoot Cobras the same way you can to enemies in their game.
hotdog 12-30-2010, 08:23 AM i just have the 2 player version without any side art on the cabinet. i think it's cool, and my kid and his friends spend some time beating it down whenever they sleep over.

If you're feeling adventurous and want to do some cabinet building, I believe you can convert that into a four player unit. 2/4 player modes are controlled by a DIP switch according to MAME, and if your unit's circuit board has inputs for players 3 and 4, you're halfway there.

yeah yojoencsu showed me where the switch is, I guess is i could find a decent 4 player cabinet i might do it, but it's cool the way it is. maybe is my family is able to upscale our housing situation this year we will try it, I also want to get those 2 legendary arcade machines (each has @ a hundred games on it), we are looking at a house with a den that would make an awesome arcade.
