Did the 1990 Metal Head come with a red visor variant? The one on yojoe shows the yellow visor but I have seen one that has a plain red one.

One was selling on ebay last week...

First time I've seen it...

The topic came up here and people are suggesting that it's just a paint app error rather then anything ultra special.

If it actually is that rare of a variant, I wonder how this guy ended up with 2 of them? Hopefully he isn't trying to sell the same one twice. I still think it's a paint error, but I guess somebody's interested, somebody has bid at that $50 starting point. Oh well, good luck either way.

I didn't look at the auction #'s, but I could've sworn the endingtimes were a few days apart. :confused:

I guess I looked wrong, hmm...

Somone please correct me if I am wrong (which is entirtely possible, since I do not own this figure, but I did as a kid, and it was one of my favorites.), but wasn't that version of Metal Head's visor a part of the head mold a, instead of a separate piece that was placed there? I remember it being yellow with red trim and a crosshair etched into one side of the lens for targeting, and it was not see through in any way. This one, though, if you look closesly, is translucent, and you can see the eyes behind the visor. Not to mention, the visor looks alot like the one Mirage comes with, but red, which I cannot find on the WHOBIT at all.

What I am getting at, is it possible that this guy made a custom head for metal head and is trying to pass it off as a variant? It wouldn't be the first time we have seen this. Just a thought.

I got the figure today and it's a legitimate variant. The red visor is part of the head mold and there was no evidence of tampering or resealing.
