The movie Stealth looks pretty cool but the story and jet design is straight from Macross Plus:

I think you're onto something. It's been awhile since I last saw Macross Plus, but I see what you're saying. I was wondering why I was thinking "Robotech" when I was watching the preview, and not "Top Gun" or the like.

Why does everyone talk about Jessica Biel as if she is the most beutiful thing they have ever seen? Every time her name would come up at work guys everywhere would start freaking out. She's OK but she just doesn't do it for me.
Back to the topic at hand...there's no such thing as an original idea in Hollywood anymore.

They had a to scale model of the jet on display at the movie premiere,, I was driving by later that night and it was still on display.. I took a look at it.. it was pretty cool. Definitely looked GI JOEish.

That does look simlar, but I can tell you for a fact that its orgins do not come from that. I know this becuase I spoke with the artist who designed the plane and the guys who built it.

Why does the unmanned plane still have a cockpit? Does it somehow contribute to the lift or aerodynamics of the plane? There are no windows, but there is definately a cockpit-shaped area, right where it should be.

There is no cockpit on the mockup it was just CGI'ed in later. It was cool being there for the filming. I was attached to VFA-125 last summer when the pics were shot and we were on a detachment to the USS Abriham Lincoln where all the carier based filming took place.

Most of the shots were shot at night due to the flight scedual with only afew thing being shot durring the day. Durring shooting I was hanging out trying to get into the movie, which I did not becuase they did not need anyone in flight suits, and was viewing the camera inputs of a little screan which was the directors (Rob Cohen) and so I had a conversation with him and he asked me how the shot looked and a few other things, it was very cool!

For the record Jessical Biel is very hot and very friendly and was out amongst the crew alot. Jamie Foxx on the other hand was a complete a$$hole.
