it was better than i exspected, tunner rat and heavy duty were totally unnesscary, the rhino was used and was cool, hitech was in it.....go fig?
the noks and zartan were in the opening

destro and the baroness were the highlights the best they've been since the arah days imo

the two big problems for me were
1. only bat enemies
2. no snow specialists for an artic mission

anyway its ok, better then i expected, weird though that cc wasn't even in the first episode, hope it doesn't get canceled before he makes an appearance

I really enjoyed the show even though I grew up watching the old Sunbow animated show. I liked how they incorporated the VvV mech suits and the new DTC Rhino vehicle into the line up. Baroness' voice was dead on, and all of the character models in my opinion were great. I'll give you different, but still had the classic elements. I doubt I'll buy many if any of the toys, but I would definately buy a box set of this animation. Gonzo has done a fantastic job...almost to par w/ the new Transformers series (Galaxy Force/Cybertron).

All of the BATS did get a little old, but Storm Shadow's brief apperance was cool. The comic relief of Tunnel Rat and the oversized Heavy Duty were corny, but then again I'm sure a married 28 year old male is not the demographic they are trying to reach! I think we all need to keep that in mind before we start slinging skunks @ Hasbro/Gonzo!

Well said! I also enjoyed the show. As mentioned, it is indeed different, but was quite enjoyable. Seeing the Mechs/Ice Sabre was a surprise, and a nice one at that! Destro & The Baroness were awesome (as usual).

The "quirkiness" of Heavy Duty & Tunnel rat was corny..and of course it would be, to a 28 year old. I spoke to a friend this morning who's son is 4, and he absolutely loved them, and the show....which is a good thing!

I see this as being the rebirth for the line that Hasbro wanted. Fans have the DTC line, "mini-fans" have SS, and everyone (should) be happy! :D

What sealed the deal for me (on watching this show religiously) were the following:

1. We didn't hear YO JOE throughout the ENTIRE show. I think it was like a grand total of twice.

2. We finally see that the Joe Team isn't "bullet proof". They lose their supplies in the jungle, they lose an Ice Sabre..and almost lose Duke!

All in all, I enjoyed it.

I actually enjoyed it. I thought the voices were good and the animation was top notch. I loved the Baroness and Destro.
I liked the fact that (unlike the sunbow cartoon) one character doesn't take on the whole Cobra army unscathed and there weren't that many "roll your eyes" moments during the action (unlike spytroops). The action was believable and heck...the Joes even lost a vehicle in the first minute of fighting.

My only complaint was the way Snake Eyes ran. NO ONE runs with thier arms outstretched behind them. It looked totally stupid and bothered me every time he was shown running.
I'll be watching next week, it wasn't as bad as I thought even though the figures are still butt ugly. If I was 20 years younger I would be eating this stuff up.

I figured someone would make reference to that. From best I can tell, that is how the Japanese animate a lot of ninjas. I did look odd, esp. how fast they ran...but I chalk it up to the animators.

Can't wait to see how this series pans out...it has a lot of promise.

I recorded it and I'll keep recording it just so I can say I have it.
It IS GI Joe after all, just another version. Hard for me to pass judgment just based on this one episode, but I will watch others.

Two things:
The obligatory SE/SS scuffles are getting a little old.

I'm STILL wondering just WHAT Sigma 6 is! Is it a code name? But GI Joe is the code name for the team right? So Sigma 6 is the code name for the code name??????

It was bad. I don't think that even kids should watch this show. I'm sure the toys will be just fine for them, but the cartoon is just awful.

I liked it. I thought it was fast paced and would appeal to kids today but what do I know. I enjoyed the anime style. It was much better than the CGI stuff.

I'm going to watch it again tomorrow. In the opening they stressed the defeat of cobra as the Sigma six mission. I'm wondering of sigma six is the mission codename. Cobra commander is already captured at the start of this series, too.
It was GIJOE: Spytroops, then GIJOE: Venom vs Valor, now GIJOE: Sigma six. Just a mission phase, so to speak, or is that just too far out of an idea.
I'm going to nitpick over it when I watch it again.

I thought it sucked. My review is on a thread in the Cartoon section. I only watched 15 minutes before I had to turn it off.

Then you are short changing yourself!

My must every bash something that is not like the original?! The first episode of Sigma 6 wa so much better than the Spy Troops & Valor vs. Venom movies combined! I loved the old 80's Sunbow show, but that was a long time ago and I'm not a kid anymore.

Come on people, give the show a chance!
