I miss the days when Japanese animation studios only did the grunt work of making a cartoon series. I mean, sure some may not like Cobra La, but you can't deny how good G.I. Joe the Movie looks, or Transformers the Movie for that matter.

G.I. Joe has now become full on anime.

I'll wait and see how this series plays out. These days, anime is the predominant children's toon genre. You cannot surf the channel without coming across big eyed animation. Remember, S6 is geared toward children. Although, adults are also on the dial.

Joe isn't full-on anime because it's still written in the US (at least, I'm under the impression it is.)

Plus, I haven't heard a thing about it being shown in Japan first and then dubbed for American audiences...

It is an America only show, but the whole style of animation is anime. The original series, and others such as Thundercats and the Real Ghostbusters, combined the best of both worlds, the proficient Japanese animation studio system and western drawing style and storytelling.

I saw the Sigma 6 rerun today, just to give it another chance. As I watched I got to thinking, I remember when Scarlett was a woman. In the new show she is just another anime girl.

Scarlett's overall look doesn't bother me, but the voice actor is terrible--it sounds like everything she says is with a calm, almost monotonous voice.

"Oh no. That's no tower. It's a rocket. Get out of there, Duke."

You can blame 4kids crappy work for that. Still I will give this a shot, I like the designs myself and glad to see some Vehicles being used that weren't in the CG, like the Polar blasts and the mechs, also got a good look at one of the upcoming DTC vehicles the Rhino.

I still say I like Destro and Baroness the most so far.

Spoiler Alert here.
Just got done watching episode two Hawk is in the hospital after valor vs venom and get this we have a new dreadnok. During the roll call you expect it to go Buzzer Torch and then Ripper and this new guy Machete shows up . I think he looks more like a Joe with his shotgun but he looks awesome. Something else new, Hawk has a son (Where What How Who?).
