Just reserved the Sideshow 12" Luke figure. Can't wait to get that one. I'm also just getting into the Star Wars Bust-ups from Gentle Giant. After getting the Maul, I think I'll try and pick up all the Sith/Imperial ones. They look super cool on my desk!

WOOOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!

I finally got my Republic Gunship at RETAIL tonight! Sa-WEET! This sucker is HUGE!
Didn't hurt I got a holographic babe - I mean, Jedi - earlier this week, either.
Hey Nick, are you going to have Amy Allen at your table again anytime soon?:D :D :D

It's been a good week on the Star Wars front.

Top that off with getting two more pieces for my Megatron (v.1) and I'm happy! LOL Now all I need are the front and rear pieces to the scope and I'm done!

This is an Indiana Jones 3 pack from the Montgomery Wards catalog. It contained Indy, Marion and Sallah.

Part one of a deal I have been working on for a while.

Ever see the extended version of Aliens? Remember when Newt's parents are called to check out the crashed spaceship and end up infecting the colony? Nice company orders.........

Here is the Galoob Action Fleet version of that prospector vehicle. This is one of three that were made.

Since the rest is on the way to me - here is a picture of all of it together.

The hardcopy, the only base, one of very few sets of figures and the one 2 up.

http://www.geocities.com/dockingbay97/img_6617.jpg

I may also be able to get the blueprints for it so I would then practically have all the pieces from start to finish.

As a fan of both Aliens and Action Fleet, I am so happy to have these items.

I love Indy Figs, about 7 years ago I struck a deal with a kid selling the entire (displayed only) Indiana figure colelction along with the well of souls MIB for only 90 bucks. It included a Mint Marion figure and a few card backs... My wife (being the Indy collector) was psyched to get them aas a gift.

Toy Maker – Mattel
Year Produced - 1986

I bought these babies's way back when Child World (A Boston area toy store) had them marked down to almost nothing. I loved the green berets and bought all of the ones I could find, (finding more at Kay Bee and Building #19) Yet Two troops evaded my collectible hunts when I was a child.

GUTS were the 80’s answer to the Plastic Army man, just a tad bigger and somewhat painted. Each also had a code name. I loved these figures and would spend hours setting thousands of Plastic army men up on the dining room table top (The army men were Given to me by My Dad and Grand Father) then I would divvy up the Green beret troops to my two younger brothers with orders to kill all of the enemy. 15 minutes later, all of our GUTS Green berets would meet in the middle of the dining room table turned dead zone of a but load of plastic army men and celebrate a Victory!

After ‘growing up’ my GUTS figures minus the two Green Berets I needed to complete them all remained packed in my collection of Child Hood toys. Then as I went through my collection weeding out the toys I no longer wanted a few years back I found the GUTS and decided to find (through E-bay and all of it's glory) the remaining two green Berets I always wanted.

After my hunt of a couple years I just recently found a Married couple on E-bay who had found a UN opened case of GUTS figures, they opened it and sold a slew of MOC GUTS troops on E-bay for dirt-cheap and in sectional lots (Guts had a slew of Squads such as AIKIDO force - basically Ninjas –Ground troops and even two vehicles - which I had bought and sold over the years.). So I was able to buy the two guys I needed plus a few of the other Green Berets I already had, still carded. Of course I had to open the two I needed to complete my collection of loose GUTS and here they are pictured here. Also Pictured are my Carded ones which I may or may not sell one day. The flag in the middle is an 80's plastic army man flag that looked perfect with my GUTS back then and is still displayed with them to this day.

Enjoy.

You wouldn't be able to get $50 for her realistically - they are becoming a lot easier to find and usually don't sell for much more than $20.

You can usually get the Disney Indiana Jones figures by ordering them directly from the parks.

I used to have the numbers for the two parks here at work but I seem to have misplaced them - let me look around for them on the web.

The Disneyland ordering number is 1-800-362-4533

The Disneyworld number might be 1-407-WDISNEY.

Don't worry it will be quick, I only have four :)

Masters of the Universe - He-Man.
Toy Company - Mattel.

He Men came out at a time when Conan was big, and Star Wars Figures were losing their enjoy-ability as far as playing with. When 1981 came, He Man became the greatest action figure Craze. My first memory of getting He-man was a Christmas back in the early years of the 80's. We had just moved and our home was less than a fixer upper, we as a five-member family were living in one room to stay warm. The heat had died three days before Christmas and my Dad couldn't get a soul to fix what ever was wrong with the heaters until after Christmas. I remember My dad sticking three of us under a large Sheet and walking us excited kids into the Living room, I remember him letting us toss the sheet off and then the vision of Our tree with A Huge Castle Grey Skull set up underneath it hit us. The cold that morning was quickly forgotten about. My brothers were bestowed many of the good he-men such as He man him self, And Skelator. I received Beast man, The castle Grey skull was quickly put to use for battle and us kids over the next few years battled hard as new He Men came out with each other or the other kids in the project, I always got the bad guys, not that I chose them but it was what was under the tree, So I never argued, We ended up getting Many of the vehicles like the wind raider and Point Dread and the Talon Fighter, (The Point Dread piece quickly became my Cobra Soldier Bunker when Joes finally hit the stores) and over the years I received a total of Four He-men in all. Sadly I was so young many of their weapons were Chewed or lost. Yet through the Internet and the good folks at He-man.org I was able to replace the missing weapons that I needed to complete the four He Men bad guys I have. Although the Vehicles and many of the He Man Comics are long gone (He men were packaged with Small Mini Comics - I Still have the Titled 'The Obelisk' Which I believe came with Beast Man) the memories of those winter days fighting for supremacy of the Castle Gray Skull with my brothers are not. So here below are my Four He-Men. From Left to right is Beast Man - Savage Henchman - 1981, Trap Jaw - Armed For Combat – 1983 (Who still smells like Pine tree sap – Some MOTU figures did like Moss man), My Favorite Clawful - Warrior with the grip of Evil - 1984, and Leech - Evil Master of Power Suction. 1985 - Member of the Evil Horde. All I have left of Grey Skull is the Stone Dragon thing in front of the He-Men; Also I have from years ago a maroon sword, which comes with the ever famous and Very rare Wonder Bread He-Man. A figure redeemable through Wonder bread, he looked just like he man but had brown hair, My brother got one and I got His Maroon Sword he didn't want. Now it sits with the Stone Dragon thingy. The figs and some of the weapons are all originals from My child hood collections, Save for Beast Mans whip and Arm pieces, Clawful's Mace' Leech's crossbow and Trap jaws Machine Gun and Claw attachment. I got those from a couple guys on line from their extras! I don't think these evil Guys will Mind!

Enjoy.

Serenity Figures.
Toy Company - Diamond Select
Year Made 2005

Ok, ever sense my wife was pregnant 3 years back, I became addicted to Firefly. Even though it was aired more than botched up in the series of episodes it should have been run, I became a brown coat and was proud of it! Firefly helped me through the hardest part of my life, when my wife and I lost our baby at four months in. It was tough, yet firefly gave us both an escape for an hour every Friday from the harsh reality of our current loss. Then the series abruptly ended. I joined a Nice and quiet firefly forum and we began the battle to get Firefly back. Of course it took some time but when it finally returned on the big screen under the title of Serenity (the name of the Starring role ship) Then my second wish came to be and a small and short-lived series of figures were produced. Luckily I was able to find all of them including the Jane Cobb Chase figure, the Mal Limited edition figure and of course my Prized limited to 500 Jane Cobb Con figure, that sadly never went to the Con. But I have #98 of 500 and I’m psyched. Today they all still rest in their packages do to the fact I have no room for them to be opened and displayed, but who knows maybe one day J

Enjoy.

OK, so it's not much, but I have to share. :D

I finally completed my Death Star with some unbroken girders and a couple replacement floors, so everything's there, even the rope, trash, and Dianoga. (Oh yeah, the box and instructions came with it, too)

Then I got greedy. :D I decided to army build Death Stars. LOL Right now it looks like the unfinished Death Star from ROTS and ROTJ, but it's just too much fun! I have one complete, one at 75%, and one at about 50%, all lined up in a hemisphere. Got the idea from a customer at the Pittsburgh toy show - thanks, Josh! (If anyone has any extra gray or top floor girders, let me know!)

In the latest box of Death Star parts I got, I also got my first diecast Slave-I. Too cool!

Like I said, not much, but a little fun on my part.:p

Here's a link to a pic of each, I'll expand the album later tonight:

Here's a strange one - I picked up a 1:18 helicopter and tank set (http://forums.yojoe.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1732&stc=1&d=1141634224) on the local auction site. The box is marked "Attack Force" and "Echo Toys" and is dated year 2000. The tank, however, is date-stamped 1984 and the helicopter 1986. Both have lots of light, sound and action features which i haven't tried yet because of the number of batteries they need (9xAA and 3xC batteries!). They're okay 1:18 scale toys that I'll paint up for cobra at some point when I get the time ... but the interesting thing is that the pictures on the back of the box feature Crankcase in the helicopter! Weird ...

I'm really into fossils and I was able to pick this up...

I also went out to the desert here in Utah a while ago and dug up some trilobites...

Nifty little find - was going through a junk box and found 4 StarCOM backpacks, and for those of you who have StarCom figures, you know what a paint in the rear those are to find. :D

Now I gotta find out if they match any of the 7 figures I have at work. :P EDIT - they DO!!! :D
One guy with a visor, two guys with backpacks, and two extra bad guy backpacks. Nice!

Also thanks to dockingbay97, my original missile-firing Battlestar Galactica Viper is now COMPLETE! WOOT! I haven't shot my eye out yet, but plan to in the next week or so.:p

I found a set of the Battlestar Galactica Titanium ships this morning.

Overall I really like them but I have a couple gripes. The paint on the Viper canopy has started coming off by touching it.

I wish Galactica's Viper launch tubes pulled out a tiny bit further.

I don't remember the Cyclon Raiders being a purple camo scheme. It looks cool but just a bit odd. Also mine doesn't have the eye slit painted. I really like how that slit looks on tv.

But I think I will still end up buying some more Vipers and Raiders and then dream of more ships from the new show.

I also got a mail away Thundercats Mumm Raa figure in the mail today in its original shipping box. They are pretty common and cheap but I had fun opening a toy from 1985. I freed him from being in that brown box for 21 years!

I can't tell if that's one of the fully transformable versions, I'm not all that familiar with Veritechs, variants, and the copyright conflicts that took place, but that'll look nice in your collection!

Well it shouldn't be transformable as I don't think the ones that held 3 3/4 figs were. Now I just need a Flagg to put it on :)

I have one (Very rare I get to say that), It's totally NON-TRANSFORMING. The feet open though. It's a bit stubby, like they started to super deform it. Not brilliantly realistic. Mine has the boosters on the back. I put mine in the loft and forgot about it. I did wonder about breaking it up though and building the robot mode, never did though.

I forgot to say the rudders fold up and the bit their attached to flips over. Thats about as much transforming as it does and thats only to accommodate the boosters.

I on the other hand have just won a Skystriker which is almost a real f-14.

I wanted to post because I consider the skystriker to be one of the milestones in my collection. It always had the best stories to go with it in the comic.

I must admit it is boxed and almost complete. I've spent quite a lot recently, I think that's made me a bit tight.

Another thing. I hate using the word "won" when talking about auctions. It's not like it requires skill or anything (ok it does a bit) just more money than the other guy, is their a proper word? What do they use in real auction houses?

I've just done a bit of research and I think I've found a solution. The emphasis should be placed on the person rather than the object therefore I should have typed:

Including but not limited to (but all stuff I'd forgotten I had):
X-Men Phoenix, Corsair, Ch'od, Mojo, Deathbird, Ninja Psylocke, and Iceman with their cards and bubbles
X-Men/ New Mutants Magik and Blink still on the card
LOTR Eowyn on card
Xena (!!!) with card

My wife just called from a Wal-Mart in Utah, said she had found a wall o' Star Wars Saga figures. I told her I was looking for 021 - Scorch - just like everyone else in the Star Wars collecting community. :D Well, she found all the numbers EXCEPT that one, naturally.

So she's digging through the Sigma 6 stuff and calls me back, asking about the 2.5" stuff (I have a great wife who knows just enough about this stuff to be dangerous) and as she's looking at the boxed 2.5" vehicles, she says, "Oh, my goodness, you'll never believe what I just found."

A lone Scorch, tucked back behind the Sigma 6 stuff.

Sorry, dude who hid it, but thanks for putting it where my wife could find it. :D

The TRU near me had 15-20 Scorch's last weekend after the reset. No Cody's though. That is the one figure I have yet to see at retail.

Oh, man - I LOVE used DVD stores. :D

Transformers Season 2 Part 1 in excellent shape with the cels - $20
(Season 1 Part 1 was there too but I'll have to go back for that one)

Unfortunately the only GI Joe they had was Valor vs Venom.

I had a decent and productive day at the markets I think..these were items bought in 3's n 4's and so they didnt come as one lot.. however I did go to one stall and got a really good bargain from a mum sellingoff her childrens toys. ;)
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f250/UKAFCollectors/Figures/Random%20Figures/MarketLot.jpg

In that lot there is the following:
2 Mr Incredibles
2 Tow Maters
4 Spider-Man Figures
1 Poison Ivy & 1 Batman
1 Sabretooth from X-Men
1 MoC Scarlett Witch Marvel Legends Figure
1 Ghostbusters Car
1 Incredible Hulk Figure
1 Foot Soldier from TMNT line
1 Darth Maul
1 Action Force Triad craft
1 He-Man Battle cat
1 Venom
1 Dr Conners Lizard Figure.

There are some other items.. some hot wheels cars that arent pictured and I also got the Transformers Prowl missing a leg :( and that strange orangey figure I still dont have a name for?

I done quite well yesterday.. due to NEFs tiredness though I had a rest and decided to post these today ;)
First up I got this for 40pence.. a Police Force Squad Car by those clever blokes at Chap Mei.
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f250/UKAFCollectors/Figures/Random%20Figures/SquadCarchapMei.jpg
The doors don't open.. however theres a decent sized room in the sunroof to allow placement of figures. :D
I originally bought it for use with my 3 3/4 Joes.. and it works well however I think it works better with the Space Precinct dudes I have.
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f250/UKAFCollectors/Figures/Random%20Figures/SpacePrecinctFigs.jpg
Pictures of them in the squad car coming soon.
I also picked up a selection of figures.. varying from price anything from 25p to 50p and one of them a 10p figure was SB rock n roll missing most weapons and his visor to his helmet. but.. as I always say.. a Joe is a Joe.
Figures 1
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f250/UKAFCollectors/Figures/Random%20Figures/Figures1.jpg
Has Cravex from Visionairies, A Terminator figure, Ray & Winston from Ghostbusters, 2 Jurassic Park Rangers.. not sure of their names can anyone help me on that?, Bebop from TMNT and Mantenna from MOTU line.
Figures 2
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f250/UKAFCollectors/Figures/Random%20Figures/Figures2.jpg
Includes a 1992 Kenner Woman figure that says Fox tm on the leg?
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f250/UKAFCollectors/Figures/Random%20Figures/WomanKenner1992.jpg
Also some Lanard 1986 various figures. Including a cool Ninja in black with intact yellow clan sigils
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f250/UKAFCollectors/Figures/Random%20Figures/LanardNinja1986.jpg
The SB Rock N Roll for 10p and a Battle Commanders Stalker figure almost mint. Theres two figures that are very similar to the 1994 New Ray figure I picked up recently. They only say Made In China on the leg.. but the build and shoulder rivets are exactly the same?
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f250/UKAFCollectors/Figures/Random%20Figures/Commsguyinorange.jpg
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f250/UKAFCollectors/Figures/Random%20Figures/PurpleDudewithwierdhead.jpg
I was thinking the New Ray figure from 2 weeks ago.. if they are so similar if someone could identify the toy line these latest ones are from it might lead to the identification of the new ray figure?
I also got this cool spaceship from the film MIB the cockpit actually seats a joe figure! http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f250/UKAFCollectors/Figures/Random%20Figures/M.jpg
Any help on these would be much appreciated.

WOW! That is a good price seeing as most of those figures go for $5 each or so. I think it's a conspiracy made up by Takara. They put the Battle Beasts in one Japanese Transformers episode and all of a sudden they're selling for insane prices!

Picked up a Target exclusive Imperial Shuttle two nights ago off the shelf - couldn't believe it was only $60! (given that the TRU AT-AT is $90, that is)

As I was leaving, the security guard asked me how much it was, so I told her. She said they'd been flying out the door, and that one guy had bought seven (!!!) at one time. Unbelievable.

But I got one. :D

Not to mention other recent finds - I found a couple more Scorch figures for my son and I, as well as a lone holographic Darth Maul hanging by himself apart from the other figures. Now all I need is a holo Leia, a holo Plo Kloon and a holoh Kiadi Mundi to complete my holo collection. :D

I finally picked up the last Star Wars Action Fleet ship I needed. This Trade Federation Droid Control ship has been a pain for me to get for a long time - they aren't listed very often, they can go for a lot of cash or I have missed really cheap BIN's. Had a NICE eBay month, capped off with this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=330119673492&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=014

That's $2 a figure for some REALLY nice condition figures! Darn it, now I've gotta finish my loose Super Powers collection again. :D Batman, Robin, and Superman have their capes in good shape, Wonder Woman and Aquaman are almost minty, and they're all in better shape than the description would imply.

And something a little off the beaten path. LOL I have a 3rd Gen iPod with a crappy battery, and I missed out on the battery recall a couple years ago.
Finally realized I could get replacement batteries much cheaper than the $60 Apple charges to send it in for replacement, and I wasn't wrong! For $10 I got a replacement battery that took my iPod from 3-1/2 hours of playing time to over 8 1/2. Now, I know that's nothing compared to the models out now, but this battery is going to last across the country on flights back home, and that just ROCKS. :) And since my warranty is shot, the new battery doesn't void much of anything. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250109974019

... no, not like that...

I just won a great vintage Action Man figure online! The breakdown:

AM muscle body with sniper neck, GREAT condition!
Kung Fu grip hands, AM versions, PERFECT!
Talking Commander WITH AM dogtag, CORRECT SPEED VOICE!
WORKING eagle eyes head WITH perfect flocked hair!

All this on one figure! This was the Golden Fleece for me when I was a kid - the eyes and voice thing, anyway. But to have all these features on one figure... hadda drop him straight into a set of Walmart reissue AT Land Adventurer cammies!

'Enemy tanks, approaching', indeed...

The lot included 2 stereo systems, 1 dvd player and 1 television, boxes of board games, 1 skateboard unused, a box of vehicles from various toylines, a huge bag of soft toys and dolls (disney, bratz etc), a large bag of figures from assorted toy lines..
See pics here:

Yes that is our front door and yes the hallway is filled with this lot :D, luckily i've got time to look through all this and do alot of sorting..
Theres lots of figures in the lot.. I did see some from the Austin Powers film with the talking base stands as well as Spider-Man, Batman, Hulk, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Wrestling.. I'm in toy heaven again.

I picked up an AVIC-D3 this afternoon. I doubt I'll get it put in until Monday, but it looks great. I was looking for a new stereo that was XM ready, Ipod ready, backup cam capable, had a hands-free phone set up & with a nav system built in. Long list of details (I spend a lot of time on the road) & I really wasn't expecting to find anything that covered all those points, so I was pretty surprised to find this. It's been a couple years since I've gone stereo shopping & that really isn't something I stay current with, so maybe this combination isn't as unusual as I think, but I'm pretty excited about getting it all put together.

Wow - I was walking through Wal-Mart last night, looked bleak in the toy section but for some wave 1 '08 Star Wars figures. And in an unrelated section, one lone Titanum figure.

A Cylon Centurion.

Total cost? $5.39.:D

Ok, so they're not selling these days like they were in the beginning, so it may not seem like such a good deal, but it was a fun pickup.

I just picked up a bbi Elite Force Black Hawk helicopter on ebay for less than $50 shipped. I had been kicking myself for not grabbing one at Target last year when I started collecting the 25th line. I think I got a good deal considering there are others on there with bin prices of $150. It goes nicely with the Apache that I did pick up at Target. Now if I could only get Airborne, Wild Bill would have a co-pilot.:)

Was one of the lucky few to get a Faker from the "Masters Of The Universe : Classics" off of Mattel's website.

He was delivered yesterday and is very nice. I'm pleased. I skipped He-Man and Beast Man when they were released and have been regretting it ever since.

I'm trying very hard not to miss anyone else although it does feel like the days when I collected McFarlane toys. Sitting at my computer, spamming the refresh button, crossing my fingers that I got a club exclusive on release day.

I'm hoping with the upped production on Mer-Man that sell outs won't happen so fast. I'd like to be able to make my purchase the day of release without having to spam the site and rush through check-out to insure I get one.

On a non-toy note. I purchased "The Elder Scrolls IV : Oblivion, Game of the Year Edition" from Amazon for the XboX 360.

I have a regular copy of Oblivion and am nearing the end of the main quest. I wanted to go ahead and get the DLC, "The Shivering Isles" and "Knights Of The Nine."

To download both though it runs 2400 and 800 MS points, respectively. That comes out to over 35.00 when the GOTY edition has both and the main game for 27.99. And as a bonus I have it all on disc and don't have to store it on my HD. Plus it was eligible for free shipping.

I just bought the terminator A-10 warthog plane.

Yes, it is rather small, but as I have nothing to compare it to (yet), it doesn't bother me much.

Just for the sake of illustrating it's size, som measurements:
Lenght: roughly 30cm
wingspan: 33cm

Other than the size, it's a quite nice plane, looks a bit worn though. The figure is quite nice too.

I just ordered the retro green arrow figure on mattycollector. I dunno how long it'll take to get here but he sure looks cool. It'll be nice to have a minty MEGO figure for a decent price.

I wish I had gotten in on the Ghostbusters figures though. Now all they have is Winston. I wonder if they'll release a 4 pack of them at some point because They are some really nice figures.

I also think that they should do a 3 3/4" line of MOTUC and ghostbusters just for me. :P

There's still time. The SDCC Egon is a "slimed" variant. Mattel is going to release an non-slimed version this summer. You can still find Ray for a decent (?) price on the Bay, and as you mentioned, Winston is still availible from Matty; and since both the current Ray and Winston are non-slimed versions, a slime-free Egon might be worth waiting for.

However, when they finally get around to the Venkman figure, it's said that it's initial release is going to be a slimed variant like the SDCC Egon. Like the Egon, a non-slimed Venkman will follow, though probably not for a few months or even a year, as Mattel is expected to milk the license, and Bill Murray's likeness rights, for all they're worth.

I ordred the Green Arrow retro figure from them last week. It's like the old MEGO figures... I'm ready to have that figure... why's it take them so long to get stuff to me but freaking smalljoes and other online stores can get stuff here in a few days? they need to work on that side of things because i'm getting antsy already. :P

But yeah the GB figures look great but I figure they'll reuse the molds again. they keep reissuing he-man figs so why not gb? also I hear they're releasing dark knight figs to toys r us again... jeez like a year and a half late there mattel.

I bought the entire first Wave of Spin Master's 3 3/4" The Last Airbender figures at my local TRU this past week. The paint applications are bad. I had to spend a lot of time comparing figures to ensure that I got the best ones. Hopefully, the company will improve upon this with future Waves. Other than that, I don't really have many complaints with them. I wasn't expecting them to be as good as GI Joe in terms of articulation. They certainly aren't. The Blue Spirit is probably my favorite out of the lot. The movie rendition is pretty interesting looking. Plus, the sword that snaps together and comes apart into two perfectly is a nice touch.

I went out looking for a Skystirker today. For anyone that still doesn't know, they're already showing up in Targets:

Collectors, start your engines… the Skystriker has hit US Retail! | Generals Joes - A blog about the importance (or unimportance) of little plastic men (http://generalsjoes.com/2011/07/16/collectors-start-your-engines-the-skystriker-has-hit-us-retail/)

Anyway, I picked up Sergent Kup, Warpath, Scourge, and Thundercracker from the Transformers Generations line today. I'm happy to get those.

I went back to TRU today and bought a DC Universe Classics vs MOTU Classics Aqua Man vs Merman pack. Yesterday, I bought the one with Hawkman and Stratos. I was really surprised to see them, since they were supposed to be out so long ago. Even better was getting them for around $20.00 a pack.

Also, yesterday, I bought a Retro-Action Ghostbusters set with Janine, Samhain, Slimer, and a foldout Firehouse. The set was pricey, but I had to have it to go with the four Retro-Action Ghostbusters I bought there early this year.

Well, when I went to my local flea market today, I found out that the guy whose table I regularly visited last year sold off the remaining Joe items he had (probably over the holidays) to someone. It's okay, since I knew that sooner or later the party was going to be over. But the day wasn't a total loss--I ended up (via a peek at my local ROSS) with my first Transformers: Dark of the Moon deluxe figure, Air Raid.

Glad to hear it. He, J Scott Campbell and the late great Dave Stevens are my "comic art guys".

Me neither, I prefer Star Trek. (rimshot)

Seriously, I feel that Toulouse LauTrec is overrated. I know it's a cliche, but when it comes to Post-Impressionist weirdos, van Gogh's my man.

Going through the stuff I got over the weekend and these were some of the non-joe stuff I got. I thought these were interesting. I found little information on them so if anyone can add any let me know. Box says 1986 but I am not sure if they are. I am thinking they are repaints made for a set that was sold in the J.C.Penney catalog.

Today I purchased my first TMNT figures since over a year ago when I just bought the four turtles and Shredder. What I bought was a Snakeweed figure. He's a very interesting looking figure with pretty good articulation. I, also, purchased a MOUSERS seven pack, which is like having an instant army of them. The figure I'm still looking for is the new Shredder. Between the knee joints, cape, and removable helmet, he looks like a better version than the original.

Before that, I picked up a mini box of chrome GPK cards at Wal-Mart. I'm trying not to spend any more money on them, but, ah, well. I can't wait until GPK Brand New Series 3 and the mini figures hit my local stores.

Great custom fodder.I've been having a lot of fun collecting GPK again. If you ever start collecting any of the new series and you need some cards to fill out a base set or something, let me know. I've got plenty of duplicates. The cheapest thing someone can do is just buy base sets on eBay, but that's not as fun as putting together sets from packs in my opinion.

Anyway, I was at Wal-Mart today shopping for a family member and I checked out their cards up front by the registers and found a couple of more packs of Brand New Series 3. I bought them. They, also, had the GPK mini figures there. I bought two packs. Upon opening the second pack, I got the one figure I really wanted, which was the zombie guy molded in green. I got the painted version in the first pack I opened. I think they're all pretty cool and I'm happy that there's going to be a second series of mini figures. GPK has so much product that it's crazy.

So, I'm at TRU yesterday and I found a set of figures that blew my mind while going through the building block section. The line is Call of Duty. The set is called Platoon Patrol. They're by Mega Bloks. These high quality mini figures have amazing articulation for their size! And, I can't stress that enough! They, also, have accessories snap on and stay on and can be arranged in various ways. The blocks they come with are pretty good. Everything fits and stays together really well. The figures themselves have to be put together and it does take some doing to get their arms popped in, but once they are assembled, they stay together.

Here's a picture of the set and it's insrtuction manuel:

http://i1371.photobucket.com/albums/ag288/AlchemistYoJoe/callofduty1_zps98a4a4bf.jpg

Now, one of the reasons why I like them so much is that they fit in perfectly with 1/32nd scale vehicles. Here's a picture of them in a diecast NewRay Willys Jeep:

http://i1371.photobucket.com/albums/ag288/AlchemistYoJoe/callofduty2_zpsada60a14.jpg

Two of the figures look like they were painted to look like German soldiers. I put them in a 21st Century Toys Hanomag Half-Track:

http://i1371.photobucket.com/albums/ag288/AlchemistYoJoe/callofduty3_zps9c6c2c17.jpg

There are several other sets of these figures. Including ones with their own vehicles. They are, also, figures that are modern. They even made a set of Zombies. I wish they would mold some proper German soldiers for their WWII sets, though. That would be my only complaint with them.

I really have to stress how much I like these as a toy soldier collector that collects 1/32nd scale figures and vehicles. These little guys are perfect for things like drivers and seated soldiers. They are slightly deformed in appearance, but one shouldn't have much trouble blending them into their toy soldier collection. They're, also, good enough of a toy to stand on their own. It'll be interesting to see what else gets made for the line in the future.

I recently got some new toy soldiers from Classic Toy Soldiers, which I've been doing business with since the 90's. They're not only a carrier of plastic toy soldiers, but, also, a manufacturer. I purchased their WWII 1/32nd scale US Infantry sets #1 and #2, as well as their German Assault Squad, Medical Team, and Artillerymen sets. Some of the figures can been seen in these photos I took of a setup I was messying around with the other weekend:

Side note: I'm into minature wargaming. We pop the tank commander out of a vehicle when it gets knocked out and replace it with a cotton ball. The makeshift smoke effect helps players to keep tabs on what's been knocked out for the game, which is especially handy when gaming with dozens of vehicles.
