does anyone know how to set up his backpack. I attach the pick axe to the back of the pack but what are you supposed to put in the other opening? if you look at the cardback art it looks like they forgot a piece when they made him, anyone know what i'm talking about?

doesn't it look like a peice is missing? like a grappling hook holder that should hook into the open space on the backpack?

I noticed a slot on the underside behind the bottom of the backpack. This would be right next to his coccyx (tail bone). Coccyx, what a funny word, sounds like something Cosmo Kramer would say.

I think the grappling hook can fit there for storage. I'll check tonight. This would make sense otherwise he would have too much to carry. Early joes tended to not come with more accessories than the fig could handle.

I always thought that the thing in his backpack was his smaller weapon, so I used to put it there, between his BP and his back... It didn't fit at all, but it worked for me :D

the other portion is for his grappling hooks. I'll try and post a pic

This is how I've always had him geared up:

FYI...I wrap the remaining string around the ends of the grappling hook handles from the end to the center and leave a small portion that is able to extend to below the hook that his pick axe clips onto. I then clip the axe on to hold the string in place. If you need a pic from the backside let me know.

that looks really good, if its not too much trouble can you send of pic of the back too?

the only thing i missing here is whether alpine should be holding both of his weapons. I kind of sneak the loop of his grappling hook rifle over his shoulder so he doesnt have to double fist.

poor guy has too much to carry, alpine should lend his submachine gun to v1 breaker, bc that guy is mr. empty hands. ok, ive officially given too much thought to a 20 yr old toy, hehe.

sure, snapping one now...be ready for an edit!

BTW...I lied. My extra strings are wrapped around the pouches on the end:

I sat there thinking the horizontal slot in the backpack had to be for something, and the other pics on here have been deleted, but every pic I saw did not look like my solution so I will share. I am sure someone else has thought of this because I am not that clever, but if not... here you go. i will link pics in a bit but first some important info so you don't break anything...1 put both skinny parts of the handles together, with the hooks on opposite ends. make sure the knots are at the end of the handles and one is on each side to hold them in place. 2 insert into horizontal slot on backpack, using the knots to hold them in place for now. 3 separate string so you can wind it on either side of the peg vertically . 4 wind until you are about out of string and place the remaining string in the middle v in the backpack . 5 hold string in place with his pick axe. now they will stay in place if you are careful and Alpine can now hold all his weapons neatly without trying to tuck in string or wrap it around handles. hope this helps someone like me. I figured YoJoe would have him geared up like this but... hopefully it makes it to the site to help someone else. pics will come soon. http://postimg.org/gallery/1jwa71b8i/
