Interesting but can't you just get this by searching completed items -- I guess that only gives you 30 days.

Here's the best part of that article: "'By offering pricing history, eBay is making people's time online more efficient...A lot of people are very inexperienced and really have no idea about how to set prices,' Weiner said."

If you're not an inexperienced eBayer, then you should know what kind of prices to expect. There are always exceptions to the rule (such as items that infrequently-never appear on eBay), but for the most part prices follow an established pattern (they go up, go down, remain the same). There are also other resources that can help you gauge an approximation of an item's worth (internet forums, archived news bytes, collectible websites, Kelly's Blue Book, etc.).

This appears to be eBay profiteering on naivete and inexperience. Besides, you can currently do a 30-day search.
