...sometimes.

Just thought I should post this info as it seems to be a big misconception that a one-parachute Skystriker is incomplete.

There were two versions released. Look and see:

So feel better about your co-pilot-unfriendly Skystriker. It might be complete after all.

Nice,

I guess I owe that guy an apology for telling me the one I bought from him only had one Parachute.... :(

Good post. We need more info like this in the archives.
You learn something new every day.
Is this related to the different machine gun versions or is this a completely different variant altogether I wonder?

Coolness. Is the "D" version an earlier edition later changed ("E" version)--is this a running change or simply two different versions, one made available to most outlets and the other to certain stores?

There are two versions of the nose gun. One version has a grid behind the gun - the other version does not have the grid.

Is this quote from the archives referring to the machine gun variation you're talking about?

I wasn't aware of this. I'll check the contents of my two Skystrikers tonight to tell you which came with which or if they're both the same.

Yeah that's the one, but the more I think about it I realize that it is probably a separate variant. My Skystriker is supposedly the first version without the grille behind the gun but it came with 2 parachutes.

To me though, it is only complete with two. Bout now that is proven to be an opinion.

Well, I checked. Both of these Skystrikers have the "grilled gun."

So this 6010 D vs. 6010 E variation doesn't account for the nose gun mold change.

Nice find. I never knew of a one parachute version as mine came with two back in the day. Thanks for sharing this info!

Wow Nice work Zach...

So is it safe to assume, the 1 pack version came out after the 2 pack? Was a cost issue that caused them to start shorting the plane by one?

To add to the discussion, my Japanese Skystriker only came with one parachute when I opened it.

I just checked my Canadian Skystriker and it's a 6010 D version and has both chutes listed on the box. Interesting stuff...good eye bigjohnwoo.

Same here! This is great info!! I believe the one chute version came out later, but only because I got my Skystriker fairly early in the run. I don't have any real info to back that up with, though.

Thanks for posting this! I'm glad this info is finally appreciated by the collecting community. I mentioned this info in a thread on Skystrikers over a year ago, but at the time no one seemed interested. Besides the box differences there are also different blueprints.

Mine wasn't co-pilot friendly! :(
