Anyone? If so, who and why?

I like them well enough. Nothing that blows me away, but they're definately better than I expected. I probably have 8 or so. As far as why I like them, they're are several reasons. For one, it just looks like alot of time and effort went into them. Although I've heard some have paint issues, every one I have has top notch paint apps. So they just plain look good to me in person. They also hold poses well, and look great all geared up. Speaking of gear, the accessories are top notch. Every figure comes with a pile of accessories, and almost all of them are fun to play around with. If the big H put this kinda effort into DTC 3 3/4" figures, they might just be onto something:)

Now while they're are several pros, there's also a few cons. For one, I think they're too big. At 8" the 8 or so I have take up alot of display space. If they were 6" like Marvel Legends figures, I bet they'd be one of the hottest toys out there.

another con is the knee and elbow articulation. While they are pretty posable, If they had the double knee and elbow articulation that ML figures have they'd be much better off. As they are, they're very posable and hold poses well. But if they had that double knee/elbow articulation they'd be...well.....CRAZY posable:)

Overall I'm happy I bought the ones I have. I won't be getting them all, but I'll definately be getting more as they come out, as long as I like the new figures once I'm holding them in stores.

I don't really care for them. They're too tall, they cost too much, and most of the figures look anorexic. The accessories are pretty cool though.

Im a fan of the Sigma Six figures. I think right now I have somewhere around 40 figures. I have at least 1 of every figure release plus double and triples of other figures that I use for Customs. I wasnt very good at Customizing 3 3/4" figure but I love customizing Sigma 6 Figures some reason. Sure articulation isnt like Marvel legends but I still they they are very poseable. As far as customs go here are few I have actually finished:

I just purchased the new Duke Jet Pack and Heavey Duty Flamethrower last night so I will have an Ace Custom and Probably a Torch Custom coming up soon. I also have Kamkura with green highlights instead of yellow and a Sea Ops Duke painted up to be Torpedo. I will have to agree on the Size issue. I m slowly starting to run out of space for displaying my collection and right now 25 displayed figures is taking up a large amount of room.

I think they're cool, but I won't be buying them. A lot of people dont like the cartoon, but its really meant for a newer generation, and the same goes for the toys.

Think about it, if you were a kid today and you saw the cartoon and the advertisements for the great action figures, wouldn't you be buying in? We did it when we were kids.

Nothing is going to beat the nostalgia factor of the old cartoon and also the ARAH toys, but thats because we grew up with them, and we're only kids once.

I hope this line and the cartoon succeeds with the new generation, because if this line succeeds, then hopefully in the future Hasbro will be making more figures oriented towards us ARAH and DTC collecting nuts.

I like Snake Eyes, mostly because he looks like the old '85 version. I'll probably pick up the first Storm Shadow too, for the same reason.

If they all looked like their RAH counterparts I'd probably get them, but as it stands now I think those will be the only two I own.

Its the exact opposite at the 2 TRU's near me. For the last 3 weeks the same 2 cases of DTC figures have been sitting on the pegs as well as a full case of Viper Lockdown sets and 2 cases of new comic pack figures and a case of the HISS Tanks. In the same time they have restocked the Sigma Six stuff at least once maybe twice. When they had the Sale where you got the free figure if you bought $20 worth of stuff, they were cleaned out by wednsday and didnt have anything else the whole entire week. Also during the sale the same DTC stuff sat there the entire time with hardly anything sold. The only DTC that have sold were the Cobra Troopers and I bought 2 of them for myself.

I like some of them. My main complaint is their legs are all too skinny. They look out of proportion. I wish they made pants for all of them, and then they'd look a little better.

And Carnage, I always enjoy your customs. I wish Hasbro had made their Destro look like yours instead of the one we're getting!

I just bought some paint and started painting. When Istarted out painting figures I used Acrylic paint like the kind you get a that the craft store. That way if you mess it you can basically just scrape the paint off with no damage to the figure. Once you get more experience you can start using enamel and other types of paint. I also use a dremel to grind down parts I dont want anymore but that takes a little bit more skill to use. Best advice I can give is take a basic figure and a simple repaint, then progress to maybe altering the figure a little either with a dremel or sandpaper, whatever your comfortable with. After you feel comfortable doing all that then you could progress to adding sculpted pieces ot your figure. I use epoxy putty for all my sculpted stuff and the use the dremel to make it what I want it look like. You can do this all with one figure if you choose that way your not waisting figures. For instance the Destro figure I made was made using this same technique. I started out just doing repaint of the Heavy Duty in a different color scheme with acrylic paint. Then I ground down the beard and band-aid on his nose and painted him up in Destro Colors using better paint I got from the Hobby shop. Still no satisfied with it I sculpted the color, wristband and collar and then repainted the figure for a 3rd time, which is how it still is today. He look much better in person and the only articulation that was lost during the whole thing was head doesnt move as well as it used to but he still turned good. It takes some practice but it tons of fun once you get into it. Although i have 6 finished I have another 4 in the various stages and and few ideas of figures I want to do. I am huge ARAH fan so most of my customs tend to relate to the ARAH version of the character as oposed to a Sigma Six Version.

I don't discad the possibility to buy them, but my priorities are other. I find some figures cool, I dont' like others, but most important: they are VERY different to the rest of my collectio, and that's probably the main reason why I don't buy them.

I really think they are junk. They are way to big. They cost way to much. The 3 inch figures are way better you can do alot more with the small figures. In my area DTC is out selling sigma 6.

I'm doubtful the format will continue beyond summer 2007. It might, but if it doesn't a few fans are gonna feel burned by Hasbro (like that's unusual).

Think about it, if you were a kid today and you saw the cartoon and the advertisements for the great action figures, wouldn't you be buying in? We did it when we were kids.


Judging from every store around here that sells S6, I'd say this isn't the case. S6 just seems to sit around and collect dust around VA Beach.

Sometimes having bigger figures does not make them more popular.

The problem with the larger Transformers listed above isnt so much the size of the figure, it has more to do with the price point. I for one like the large size transformers that dating back to Fort Max and Scorponok. The problem with the new toys, is no parent wants to drop $50+ for transformer anymore. I actually have 2 of the Starscreams as well a 2 Unicrons the yellow and black versions but I was able to get all of them for less $11 each instead of paying $50. For $50 a parent could buy 4 or 5 smaller transformers which Im sure the kid would enjoy much more than one large figure. My 5 year old nephew loves the new transformers and he begged and begged his parents for a Starscream figure, but because he cost so much they didnt want to put that kind of money down for that figure. I ended up giving him one of the ones I got for cheap and he absolutely loves it, its just a shame that they charge so much for those larger toys because most kids never get a chance to enjoy them.

I actually like the figures and the accessories are fantastic. The scale is becoming a problem for me display wise and it limits the vehicles that could be incorporated into the line. The endless repaints coming down the pike are making me wary and I have begun to look elsewhere for my action figure fix. After I pick up Destro, Firefly and Zartan I think I'm done.

I like them. Obviously, they're very different. They're a nice change of scale to me and I actually like the exaggeration and stylization. I just consider them a different kind of object from the ARAH Joes. I was disappointed that the cartoon was so ridiculous and I don't think the studio they picked is doing as well as a lot of other anime I've seen (I actually thought it was knockoff animation until I read it was coming from some real studio in Japan).

In general I think most of the Sigma Six figures are crap, they are the wrong scale and the distorted proportions make them look ugly. The only possible exception is the Sky Bat, which looks almost like a Micronaut to me and might fit in with my other Micronaut toys. But as GI Joes? No way, Sigma Six doesn't look anything like what I would expect or want in a GI Joe toy.

For me the DTC figures are the only Real American Hero Joes which matter right now, and I'm glad to see them starting to make a comeback at Toys R Us.

I don't know.....maybe I'm just getting old and all the stuff that is coming out looks like junk to me....You know like when you hear music today and it sounds horrible and you think you know what real music is because you used to listen to it back in the day...Same thing, I guess...

Well that pretty much sums up how I feel right there. Although I did buy a storm shadow when the sigmas first came out cuz' I think storm shadow is cool and he actually looks cool displayed....from far away.........very far away.

I like the look of a lot of the figures and the accessories seem uniformly fantastic, but ... my heart belongs to 3 3/4 and I don't have the extra money to spend on Sigma Six.

Also I'm a vehicle-orientated collector and the Sigma Six vehicle range is a little limited :D

I grew up with the 3 3/4 line so my heart is there. I love the fact that TRU is selling the DTC stuff. I wont bash the Sigma 6 line though. I think they look good. Seeing the beefed up Spirit got me interested in the new wave of Joes. I would have liked them to be the same size as the Marvel Legends line....but oh well. We cant get everything we want. I will buy more as they come out as long as there are figs that I like. In fact I'm re doing my budget to incorporate the DTC stuff and the Sigma 6.

I like them, if for no other reason than they are nice new interpretations of vintage characters in a completely different style. I have picked up all my favorite characters to play with, and i have used both the new and vintage character designs as guides for my own 33/4" customs. I have been looking for Destro like mad, but have not found him yet.
