I received a complete Updraft figure and the brown on the gloves, knee pads etc is a lighter brown than the figure that I already had. It makes it almost look like two totally different figures. Is this a known variant?

Since he's not a common figure to begin with, it's not a well known variant since most people don't have one Updraft in their collections, much less two. Neither seems more rare than the other, though.
