So far, us old timers enjoy the nostalgia of collecting things of yesteryear, but with the current state of Joe being delivered with different selections as of late, what do you guys collect nowadays?

I'm mostly ARAH, but I'll take some of the JvC/VvV/DTC that can match with the old. I don't like most of the new because they look like comic book characters. Kinda dumb to have a newer sculpt CC who looks like he's on steriods and a ARAH Roadblock that looks puny next to him.

Same with me. Primarily I collect RAH stuff, and I'm still busy with the vintage stuff at the moment. I pick and choose the rehashes I like, with a few new sculpt figures thrown in the mix that I like.

I've also picked up a few 8" Sigma Six figures, but only the ones that I feel are similar enough to the old RAH designs, like the first SE and SS, Destro and most likely the upcoming Zartan.

I voted for "Both ARAH & JvC/VvV/DTC only"

I prefer ARAH style, but I get the new sculpt stuff too. Most of it is kept MOC, as I have bought few doubles to open

I collect ARAH and new sculpt. Lately I've been mostly buying new sculpt as I think a lot of them are great renditions of existing characters.

I collect a mix of all sculpts. ARAH, VvV, Spytroops, a few 8" S6 and any Cobra Commander figures including the 2.5" and 12" versions.

im a completionist so i have to collect them all. i still refuse to get any of the 2.5 sigma six yet. not because i dont like them but i dont think my wallet will stretch any further.

I collect RAH and new sculpt stuff, but no Sigma Six. Their proportions look so hideous they make even the ugliest of RAH and new sculpt look good.

IMO, Hasbro got it right the first time. I bought a few new sculpts a few years back - hated them.

Wanting to get into collecting 12 inch versions of the RAH line....

So there isn't anyone here that ONLY collects new sculpts or Sigma Six?

I wouldn't use the word "only", but I would feel comfortable about "mostly". I am in the process of phasing out any figure from before 97, except the random head or torso in customs.

While I do buy some new sculpt figures. I am purchasing fewer and fewer of these and those that I do buy are either bought for the artwork (DTC single cards) or used for customs (Covor Girl). I love the accessories and some of the body parts are very nice but all of my "real" GI Joe figures have metal rivets, with the only exception being Deep Six v1.

Everything 3 3/4". I am focusing on my 82 to 94 figs now, then the convention stuff and then the post 97 stuff. At the rate the new stuff is coming out, I should have a complete collection by June of next year! Hopefully, sooner!

I collect anything old sculpt and I will get the occasional 8" Sigma Six when it is a really nice figure. I only have 3 now so that tells you how selective I am on them.

I really only collect ARAH 80's and 90's. I have occasionally picked up some of the new sculpt, but only a select few (ie: snake eyes, cobra commander)

This includes coloring books puzzles party favors gift wrap props busts etc. I have one of every US figure with a few exceptions like Payload Crossfire repaints(grrrr.) etc. I even got G.I.Joe extreme and Sgt. Savage. basically if Hasbro sticks a stars and bars logo on it I will probably get it. Even Sigma six. You know if the cartoon wasnt so bad I bet there would be a few of you out there that might like em (although i have to admit Ive never opened any). RAH is my fave for Nostalgic reasons but I still continue forward with the new stuff because that is my hobby. Collecting....G.I.Joe.
