Official Hasbro images of the five figures in the new Cobra Trooper repaint boxed set.
Figures include:
Cobra Commander (Valor vs Venom paint scheme)
Storm Shadow (Valor vs Venom paint scheme)
Cobra Trooper (Comic Book (http://www.yojoe.com/magazine/2007/08/22.shtml#) colors)
Cobra Officer (gray vehicle driver scheme)
Cobra Jetpack Trooper (Comic Book helmet, all-new JUMP pack)
The set also features a large COBRA sigil emblem music box that plays the opening theme to G.I.Joe: The Movie (http://www.yojoe.com/magazine/2007/08/22.shtml#)!
Expect these on store shelves this coming Fall!

Other than the Cobra Commander, that looks pretty weak to me. Really, was anyone asking for a Stinger driver? And what good is he without a Stinger? It seems like they could have swapped out the CC and SS and threw in a Viper and a Crimson Guard and just made it a troop builder set.
As cool as the black look is, I'd rather have had a dark blue CC with gold trim and the battle helmet. Kinda like the one in the guru planet ad. And the Storm Shadow figure is ridiculous because it's just about the exact same as the original figure, but without the robe or loincloth or whatever ya call it.

I think it's cool, even though we are getting yet more versions of CC and SS, I guess there is no way to convince them that we've had enough :p , I mean, this is gonna be CC v25 and SS v23? wtf??
The Stinger driver looks sweet, and that Jetpack Trooper looks interesting too!

The Stinger Driver looks great and the Jet Pack trooper seals it as far as me getting it. What I'm really curious to see though is, the way Hasbro likes re-using weapons and whatnot, if they'll be bringing out a silver padded Grand Slam with a repainted jet pack. Or even a 25th anniversary edition of Starduster?

I'm just noticing that there isn't much racial diversity in terms of the Cobra grunts. By the time the 5-pack comes out there will have been 5 different troops released, including the officer (6 if the single pack troop repaint comes out by then), and the only one that might not be white is the guy with the Jump Jet, and if you could take off his helmet, I bet he would be white, too! I know that the original figures were all Caucasoids, but c'mon! This ain't the 1980s anymore, we're civilized now. . .and where are the females!?

The first non-white Cobra didn't come along until the 6 packs started in 2003/4. That's nothing new. Hasbro goes with what sells... There are plenty of threads on this board that discuss it, so I don't think there is a need to go into it any further myself.
BTW< The term "Caucasoid" has nothing to do with skin color. It's about facial structure, specifically the nose bridge and cheeks. The word you're looking for is Caucasian, which does reference skin color generally (but not specifically). Two different terms for two different things.
