Last few weeks i been having some really bad gas throughout the day, its mainly the worse during the morning and has an awful smell. And throughout the day during my trips to the toilet i seem to how should i put this nicely "explode upon impact often"

Anyway anyone know whats going on with my body or have an idea whether or not i should be concerned. I most likely am going to schedule a visit with the doctors probably within the week, but im hopings it just a stomach thing or something that will go away eventually

If it persists it may be the start of IBS- Irritable Bowel Syndrome, but if it clears I wouldnt worry too much.

I would definately mention it to a Dr tho-

it could be an early warning/indicator of a problem..

Also not sure if this is the factor in my not feeling good, but i don't go to the bathroom during work so from 4am-2pm im toilet free. Could that be a factor?

IBS is more irritating than painful, though it can hurt-

but I wouldnt be worried, certainly not yet-

if the problem persists for more than 3 weeks, then maybe, but it shouldnt be anything serious.

Have you started a new shift pattern with your job change?

If so- thats whats likely causing this-

especially if youre starting at 2-3 am.

I used to often switch from Night- Day shifts and it can play havoc with all your bodies systems

Yeah with my new job im now waking up 4am after spending 3 years waking up at 6am and going a week between jobs waking up at 10am. And it doesn't hurt at all my stomach just feels weird, but that im sure is from me having to do the business so often.

What kind of food are you eating? What do you drink also. You can treat this a lot of time with medication but a change of diet may be in order. Also DO you go regular or is it every few days? You may need more fiber in your diet if you don't go regular. A lot of times certain foods are fine but over a long period of time can trigger this. Drinking soda all the time can do it some. Theres a lot of variables to this.

Instead of asking on a forum that deals mainly with collecting GI Joes, I'd ask a doctor.

I'll second that. A toy forum is probably not the first place to look for medical advice.

You could try taking a fiber supplement for a few days, & see if that takes care of it, but in general, if something lasts for more than a week, a visit to the doc is probably your safest bet.

That is exactly what I was thinking.Although it may be due to stress also.I would get it checked by a dr. though just to be safe.

Well it started during my last week at Walmart and i was really stressed then. Maybe with the lack of sleep, the new schedule and the fact i spent most of October stressed could be a factor.

It may very well be nothing and I am no Doctor, but please take a look at this site and scroll down to signs and symptoms

I would not suggest self medicating, but I would go to the Dr. tomorrow.
Let us know how everything turns out.

I look at what comes out when i do go and it looks normal to me so i doubt its a parasite.

I would definitely go to the Doctor then so they can run some blood and stool tests just to be safe.

I think i have an idea around the same time this started i changed my diet a bit and have Oatmeal 1-2 times a day and usually use 4 pouches and i started my diet around the time this happened. Could all the oatmeal im eating be upsetting me?

A doctor would be the best person to ask,but my un-educated and non-medical answer would be Maybe.
If you are not used to fiber and you don't introduce it gradually then you can have "explosive" results:)
Are you lactose intolerant? Are you allergic to any foods?
Again I would advise you go to a doctor.
I used to weight train and ate a lot of fiber at once.Man that hurt:)

Would you think a week without oatmeal be enough time to determine whether or not that its the cause of this. Im thinking stop the Oatmeal now and wait a week then see the Doctor if it continues, im just not sure if a week is long enough to show results.

The benefits of oatmeal are immense.
Your body seems to just be going through some of the expected changes when a person introduces fiber for the first time.Fiber flushes out toxins.
I know you probably hate going to the doctor as most of us do,but I think this would be a wise choice.
It may very well be I.B.S.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irritable_bowel_syndrome
My brother and mother have I.B.S.
Or it may be colitis, but I highly doubt it with the symptoms you are explaining. It would take a Doctor to tell you what you have though.

WHen I say fiber I am not talking about pill form or powder form. A lot of foods are high in fiber so if you have changed your diet some if you check out the packaging it will tell you. I just wanted to get an idea if you had a lot of foods high in fiber all of the sudden. Like said above a Dr. is a good idea because this could be one of many things. I work in a pharmacy and you hear these symptoms all the time when they come in getting meds and they are always a different diagnosis. They will run tests and find out whats up. Stress could be a big factor in this also. They may even do a hemocult test to see if there is any blood in your stool that you don't see. Stress can form ulsers and so on. It could be something as simple as a job change and your immune system lowered and you caught something such as the flu and maybe it will pass but its always good to go check it out early in case it is something more.

Why, oh why, did I click on this thread? Probably the biggest "forum WTF" moment I've experienced all year... I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

the oatmeal and a heavy meat diet would cause this.

change in schedule as well.

switch to fruits and veggies for a while with chicken as your meat.

Hi,
How long have you been suffering the "explosion" problem?
I ask because it's usually important to nip this in the bud before it turns out something nastier than it actually is. Almost everyone that is qualified will tell you that your stools should really reflect your dietary supplements, it's an end product (albeit not a good looking one) to your bodies intake and the result is your waste aka leftovers.

Stress, lack of sleep, bad eating (mcdonalds breakfast muffins). things like this can all contribute to your experiences. I'd suggest making an appointment with the doctor, in the mean time eat a Banana instead of the mcdonalds breakfast muffin as a substitue.. Banana's have lots of potassium and help with energy. :)

I understand people's concerns about you turning to a toy forum for help,. self diagnoses isn't the best form of advice for anyone, however who knows your body better than you?
You can learn alot about your body by reacting and listening to its responses from the things you eat.

I speak generally with caution and experience as I've suffered greatly from Crohns Disease for the last 9 years.

If the problem is much more serious the doctor might refer you to a specialist, just remember the more you know about what is going on inside your body the better prepared you can be for the future and how to deal with it.

Naturally I wish you good luck with your findings and hope it's not too serious, keep us updated. ;)

But im getting some answers which i wanted and wanted to know if going to a Doctor was needed.

Seriously, I know this is a little old but that's why you SHOULD go to a doctor. If I had a serious illness that could be cancer or something as horrible and I wanted to know if I had it or not and so I went on a Barbie forum to ask and someone said, "Man you just need to eat more apples" and I thought, well sounds good to me and I let my problem get worse... well that doesn't make a lot of sense does it? If this keeps going on after trying the fiber stuff you HAVE to go to a doctor.

I'm glad to hear you are doing better. I went to the doctor for something and it was an issue with fiber. You never realize how important it is until your body starts freaking out.
