I think that is one of the ugliest figures I've ever seen...and I'm usually pretty easy to please when it comes to the paint jobs. Something about the gold face, and the black chest not really lining up with the midsection make it really odd looking.

But I do hope it leads to a 25th Tomax and Xamot!

Possibly a 5 or 6 pack. That gold-faced CG might be a Crimson Guard Commander.

Definitely could see a 5-pack with a couple of these and a 'Shadow' Guard (or vice versa) and Tomax/Xamot in mostly red outfits so the 'regular' versions of them could come in a cheaper format like a comic pack.

I guess I like it better than the original Commander, but I still don't like it very much.

I agree, this one is pretty ugly. I'm looking forward to the regular one, and I may like this one once I have him in hand, but right now I'm not a fan.

That was my first thought too...That it might be from the Evolutions set...but i was under the impression that was regular Cobra Troopers/Officers...do we have any more info on this?

Don't you guys love the fact that in some cases (http://www.yojoe.com/action/06/viper15b.shtml), Cobra command denotes rank by basically painting your face shield or mask with gold spray paint? I wonder if this guy will get his own file card?
