Wow, I don't think there are many similarities besides physical strength and general brown-ness. And both have facial hair.

But Chewie's crossbow would put him closer to Scarlett. His large, hairy form is closest to Monstro-Viper, and Chewbacca's penchant for off-color humor (in Brian Daley's novels) would be more fitting for Shipwreck. The Sarge is probably the closest vocal match. Then again, Chewie's a co-pilot, so his job may be akin to Lift-Ticket's or one of the other fliers. With his mechanical skills, you could even say he's the Hardtop to Han Solo's Payload.

ETA: He also gets captured about as often as Duke.
