that Torpedo really reminds me of the show.

The only decent figure here is Torpedo.

Gung-Ho in a sailor suit is just lazy, and I have no use for Buzz Lightyear version 2.

That's obviously Gung-Ho as Cutter!!

And I was actually defending the 25th figs on how awesome they are with detail and sculpt then Hasbro pulls this crap!!

*picture a grown man walking down a toy aisle. He's excited because he's heard that the new naval three pack had been released. He hits the G.I.Joe section only to see that...it's there! But what is that? Cutter, the only figure that the man even wants in the set is....GUNG HO'S TWIN BROTHER? Distraught over the fact that as a kid he never even teamed the two up, the man begins to weep. And then, thinking back further to the time his Cutter snapped at the waist and he threw him out and didn't even mention it to his 83' Gung Ho.....

The man drops to the ground, raises his head and yells "CUTTER!"

Honestly, has there been a worse figure? Not that it's in my hands, but that head is an abomination.


On a side note: My Toys R Us has totally revamped their Joe section and they now have a good portion of the second aisle now (no end cap...no side end cap).

It seems maybe that was the goal - "the kids won't know" - course, the collectors will...:rolleyes:

Anyhow - it'll still do well (hopefully) so we (collectors) can see more of these three packs, which I personally think are pretty cool...

protip:

pry off cutter's hat, get the gung ho from valor vs venom with the grey hat and glue it to the head and paint it blue.

i dont collect many of the joes, but this is an epic fail, im glad to see everyone else feels similar.

Yeah, it's hard to disagree with how wrong this reuse of parts is. I think Crankcase stinks compared the original, but at least it's a passable repaint. Cutter, along with the equally disgraceful Leatherneck, is just awful.

I wonder if it is cheapend because its a TRU exclusive. Remember the 3 Target vehicles that came with great figures with no weapons or stands.

Come to think of it have they used Crankcases head again?

Sure we have issues with "Cutter-Ho", Deep "Star" Six, and even to an extent, Torpedo's yellow-ness. But we have all missed the big point. Where the heck is Keel Haul? He is the senior Naval officer on the Joe Team. Only Colton out ranks him!!

Even sticking to the repaint mentality, they could have done this set way better than this. Torpedo is decent but the other 2 attempts are not worth it. This set will be collecting dust at TRU, thats for sure.

I bought a starting lineup Derek Jeeter figure from TRU just for the hat. I washed the NY symbol off and painted a boston logo on it so i can give cutter a real baseball hat,it is sad that I have to customize a figure just to make him look like he should. How hard would it be to sculpt a new head for this figure, theother two I am O.k. with I can use a few more divers now the original Torpedo will be used to army build a small squad and SRO Tropedo will be the squad leader

At least Cutter's "Boston" cap is removable. (So I can chuck into the harbor!!)
