I was wondering what happened to the HOH concept. I'll probably pass on collecting these MOC. That SE looks like the one in the new five pack. It's overkill X 10 already.

Hmm. I'm guessing that we'll be expected to pay more money for figures that most us already have, just because they're framed in some extra cardboard.

You guessed correctly. BBTS has these for pre-order. A case of ten is $109.99. The individual figs are $12.99, except for Flint and Storm Shadow. They are $14.99. According to Hisstank they are also online only.

Heres the B.A.T. (http://www.gijoeclub.com/2009hoh-01.cfm) and Viper (http://www.gijoeclub.com/2009hoh-02.cfm).

I like the look of these figures. They seem to be the best version of each character so far. That Snake Eyes looks to have the newer style body with the old head. That's good, because the new one had a weirdly shaped head. But really, if you're going to pose a figure for a promo picture at least take the time to put the gun in his hand correctly. The B.A.T. looks really good too. I like the clean look a lot better than the other figures had, with the black paint washes to add detail.

Yeah, I don't think it'd be a good idea to operate an Uzi that way. Also, why is he pointing it at Timber? Is Hasbro setting us up for an Old Yeller moment?

well, you can't deny they're very nice figures.

On the other hand i don't know why i'm thinking overkill right now...:D

I hope with Flint and Zartan that we get cartoon re-decos. If not, I'll probably pass on the whole lot.

Unfortunately, with every character being released and re-released ad nauseum, though everyone gets a chance to pick them up, these figures won't be worth squat down the line. These Joes might have seemed like a decent investment early last year, but with the single card re-releases and army builder packs and comic packs and DVD packs, etc., that has quickly changed.

Why aren't Snake Eye's boots dirty? I know this seems dumb but if Flint and Beach head are coming with dirty boots then why is Snake Eyes appearing clean? He should be out there kicking *** all the same also. The same thing with the BAT, he looks too "clean". I like that they come with tons of accessories but I don't know if I can justify $15 on 1 figure especially if there are only minor differences. Most likely a pass except for possibly Flint. Maybe...

Hey kids! Tell us what your favorite figures are.

Then we will sell them to you AGAIN.

Oh, they are also more expensive! That must mean they are better!

Its only a matter of time before they start selling us the same figures but with the "digitalized" looking background and calling them something else. Or maybe a V1 Cobra Commander with two open hands! I can't wait!

On the bright side, those who want to army build the chromed mask Cobra Viper can now do so. Aren't a lot of those figures going to be in the upcoming 5-packs?

Heres the problem. We love the originals so we vote for them to be remade in HoH. Then they give them a gold stand and dirty boots and want us to shell out 15 more bucks? Only an idiot would buy that. Anyways.......

I just preordered both versions of Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. They got me. I cant help it. I wanted a sleeveless SS and now we got it. I was gonna get all 3 regardless but SS is my favorite. Still cant tell whats different about 82 SE but oh well. As long as people keep buying repaints Hasbro will keep making them. I guess Im partly to blame :(

Storm Shadow is the only figure that I'm planning on buying from this line. I like the original versions of the other figures for the 25th line better.

I myself prefer to be able to actually obtain the figure w/o paying an arm and six legs for something that got snactched off store shelves by someone looking to make a few extra bucks off a toy.

So I am glad they keep them coming out. I have the whole 25th line, minus the "new" figurs like para-viper etc, and I could care less about the line getting devalued. I got over that in 1997.

I really thinking collecting modern Joes as an investment misses the mark in several ways. Collect them because they are awesome and fun, any collector value should be entirely incidental, happy accidents. Anyone who bought Star Wars toys in the 90s can tell you it's not a hobby that you will make much on. What I mean is that I still see carded POTF2 figures for less than retail, 12+ years later.

Edit: also, even with all the repaints and reissues do you really think the 25th are made in anywhere near the numbers of mid 80s ARAH runs? I certainly don't. What seems like a glut of figures to us, the collecting community, is rather insubstantial in the greater scheme. I would imagine most 25th figures are produced in 10% or less of their ARAH counterparts from the 80s. That's just a guess, but I don't think Joe Public has any idea GI Joe is even back.
