Hi everyone,

Man, it's been a long road (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNo-s1NtjI0&feature=related), but I finally got to 1,000 posts and we haven't had a giveaway in awhile.

I can't believe I have been around this long; thanks for making it fun.

To qualify: Post in this thread any/many of the following:

1) A memorable Joe collecting anecdote or a "remember when" here on YoJoe
2) A pic(s) of your favorite Joe vehicle, figure, or character (within forum size guidelines, etc.)
3) A Rambo, Commando, or '80s action tribute - pics, favorite scenes, etc.
4) Favorite Joe clips from YouTube
5) Bonus: If you snap a dio-pic of your Joes doing P.T. (physical training), I'll throw an extra name in the hat for you. Pic must somehow include a flag.

Winner will be randomly drawn sometime on Memorial Day, May 30th and later announced. Not sure what I'll mail out yet, but I'll try to make it good.

The best remember when I can think of:

Remember the night when amazon had the crimson shadow guard and cobra imperial procession sets for $10. Man this forum LIT UP and I was able to snag many of both packs at almost the last minute as I had just gotten home from work. That was awesome.

heres mine for favorite figure(wild weasel). I didn't want to make him the center of the pic as I wanted this to look like it was a security camera type shot.

I wonder if that was that one time when the forum had 517 people online?

Nice photo WWTB, the lighting looks like a streetlight, and a bad deal's about to go dowwwwn.

Don't know if its the "best" remember when:

Remember the vigorous debate about reproduction parts? Wow! There are some strong opinions on both sides of that argument.

Wow, maybe I should've run this over at Hiss Tank to get more than three participants. Well, happy Memorial Day, thanks for playing, and I'll let it run until late nite tonight.

1) A memorable Joe collecting anecdote.
-One of the reasons I got into collecting Joes hardcore was because I found a bag of vintage figs, weapons, vehicle parts (Including for the FLAGG) at a Yard sale for $1. Most of the figs O-Rings were broken but I got a complete Baroness, two complete Tele-Vipers, a nice v1 Destro, the yellow tow car for the FLAGG and a Missile Antenna, a Mauler antenna and much much more.

2) A pic(s) of your favorite Joe vehicle, figure, or character
-Here is my favorite vehicle that I just completed

3) A Rambo, Commando, or '80s action tribute - pics, favorite scenes, etc.
-Blaine from Predator always reminded me of what Recondo would be if he was Roadblock

4) Favorite Joe clips from YouTube
-This was always my favorite "Knowing is half the battle" PSA
YouTube - ‪Doc - "Don't take drugs without your parents there" - A G.I. Joe PSA‬‏ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJ0K-ElJKmY&feature=related)

5) Bonus: If you snap a dio-pic of your Joes doing P.T. (physical training), I'll throw an extra name in the hat for you. Pic must somehow include a flag.
- I think this should fit the requirements for the Bonus ;)

Those are outstanding. I like the VAMP in flames too.

No need to hit all five wickets to enter, but I am impressed! Just pick one and go with it.

My all-time favourite Joe memories:
3) Setting up my first Flagg. At 32 years of age...
2) Dragging my girlfriend into a run-down toy shop (again) in Japan, against her "I'm bored" protests, only to find 10 MOC figures (Scarlett, Officer, Zartan, Dreadnocks, Major Bludd, Rock n Roll, Gung-Ho, Breaker) covered in dust for $7 a piece. Score.
1) Finding my first two Joes in a sandbox in 1984 - Scrap Iron and Snow Job. I don't know who left them in that park, but thanks for starting me on my hobby!

My favorite Joe toy changes with such frequency that I can't really put a picture here, currently I like the RoC Kamakura and the Blue Ninja Flame Kamakura from Sigma 6 (everyone's favorite line, I know), so I'm going with option number 3, Rambo tribute!

Rambo taught me how to read.

You may be questioning your own ability to read at this point, but yeah, that's what it says. Rambo taught me how to read. Hear me out- As a kid, I loved Saturday morning cartoons. Who didn't, right? Anyway, my favorites were GI Joe (of course) and the incredibly silly Rambo cartoon that ran for a brief time before people realized that they were convincing children to watch some pretty bloody (awesome) movies. Political correctness won out, but not before I loved me some Rambo. My parents would let me watch the first two movies, covering my eyes and ears at strategic points so that people would just disappear from the movie rather than be blasted to bits out of it. Anyway, we're walking around this shopping center one day, and there's a new place called BlockBuster there, advertising NES games in the window for rent. I had gotten an NES the Christmas before, and I've already explained my love for Rambo. You can figure out what happened. One new Blockbuster membership later, we brought home the Rambo game, threw it in the NES, and booted up ... a game with some pale red haired guy running around the woods punching snakes and a LOT of reading. I didn't care, I was a pretty easy going kid, and it was a Rambo game, so I was down for anything. I couldn't read at the time, and so my parents had to read all the dialog to me as I played the game. The next day, my mom was taking a nap and my dad was at work, but man, I wanted to play some Rambo and I wasn't gonna wait. I started up the game, and proceeded to do what I had the night before (it didn't save and there was a very complicated password system), and to my surprise, I remembered what it was my parents had read to me. I put the words to the shapes of the letters onscreen, and voila, rudimentary reading level achieved! I still remember being baffled by the boat captain saying "OK!" I must have sat there for an hour wondering what "okk" or "ahk", as I was pronouncing it, was before I finally felt like an idiot and just took the boat ride. Other than that hiccup, I could actually read basic sentences, as long as a word or two had popped up in the game. Anyway, sorry for the rant, but I'm pretty sure that's the only good experience anyone's ever had with that game, and I hope you all enjoyed the story.

Thanks Rambo, and happy Memorial Day!
