Hi all,

I've been pondering on this for a while & whilst I'm army building I got a number of troops to a squad, don't know where or why but I got 12!

So I guess I'm just interested in seeing what other peoples numbers are. So come on people let me know the sizes of your legions.

12 troops for each squad is a very nice number. That is the number I would like to get down to tongue.gif

Someone posted these a long time back...

3 Soldiers form a team.
3 Teams form a squad.
4 Squads in a platoon and 4 platoons in a company.
Then 3 to 4 companys in a battalion.
2 battalions form a brigade.
2 brigades in a corps.

I usually keep each of my armies of vipers in the platoon or company ranks.

The Army is organized like this:

-Squad: 8-10 soilders (lead by an NCO)

-Platoon: platoon leader (1st./2LT) and 2 or more squads.

-Company: company comm. (CPT), first sgt.(1SG), a headquarters, and 2 or more platoons.

-Battalion: battalion comm.(LTC), his staff and headquarters, the command sergeant major (CSM) and approximately 3-5 companies.

-Brigade: brigade comm. (COL), command sergeant major (CSM), a headquarters, and approximately 3-6 battalions.

Division: includes three maneuver (armor or infantry) brigades as well as several combat support and service support brigades or battalions.

There are currently 10 active divisions, each commanded by a major general (two-stars)

Organizations higher than the division include the:
-Corps
-Army
-Major Command (MACOM)
-(and in times of war), the Theater.

Anyway sorry, ;) I don't really use a structure for my cobra troops. I just collect as I see fit. For example I have,
-12 alley vipers
-19 vipers
-60 troopers/officers
-16 snow serpents
-30 crimson guards (1 commander, 16 sieges, and 13 immortals)
-16 sand vipers (with 3 sand scorpions, 2 desert scorpions, and 3 desert claws for support.)
-also I have various numbers of tele-vipers, night vipers, neo vipers, heavy water, toxo-vipers, motor vipers, and python patrol. With others mixed in as well..

I agree with Cavalry Man, but in Aviation and Medical, usually you have CPT for Platoon Leader and MAJ for Company Commander.

Since cobra is a terrorist operation I dont see them functioning like a standing army. I see them as a highly specialized and well planned group that uses hit and run tactics not stand and fight. Most people that stand and fight the U.S. military wind up dead.

Yeah I that could be. true. But I think its because those two fields are HIGHLY specialized, not that they all are not.
Also there are exceptions as well. In my Cav. unit for example, our Troop (Company) is headed by a 2LT. instead of a CPT and our acting 1SG is a SFC, because the main body of the unit is deployed for KFOR in Kosovo.

I don't neccesarily see cobra as a terrorist organization. I mean what terrorist org. has planes, tanks, and other mechanized instruments of war. But then again its just a toy.
It's true too that I believe that pound for pound no military can stand up to ours. But then agian I'm a little biased.

You an me both. I was a cavalry scout prior to OCS I made it to specialist as a scout. I then decided that the only branch for me as an officer was infantry.

Squads of 8. I have multiple squads of soldiers and Vipers (different colors). Some specialized guys get 12. I want 12 CGs, Snow Serpents v1, and Eels v1, because it doesnt' seem like they really have anyone else to fight with them in their particular environment (Eels and Snow Serpents, anyway). Drivers I build fewer of, though.

Well theres really nothing wrong with the infantry Sir. smile.gif Were all in it together. Its always nice to talk to fellow/former Cav. memebers. There are some soilders with us who used to be in the infantry. Each job is important.
We used to say Scouts Out!! here, but now its: Scouts Lead the Way!!!! smile.gif
