Could somebody tell me what the difference is. Is it just the helmet with holes?

If so, the mail away also came with an American flag decal for his chest.

yep those and the sleeves.. some had the rolled down sleeves. The early ones I think, so it would be the mail away one.

The Duke with the rolled down sleeves was available in Japan and I'm told also late in the US line, but I personally have never seen one MOC.

There are a lot of small changes made to Duke along the way. The mail-in version came with the flag on his shoulder at first. That was the earliest version. The early mail-in file card had a close-up of his face while later mail-ins showed more of the figure's picture. This is similar to the file that was available in the store. I think there is an old thread about this with images if you look back a few months.

This is true. My Duke was the 1984 US carded version and has the Japanese sleeves. And also the slim head, and Cobra waist.
