Other than black coloured repro mics for Heavy Metal, and identical colour repro mics for Lift Ticket and W.O.R.M.S., are there any other repro mics floating around out there, and if so, are there any tell-tale signs of a fake, other than it being disclosed by the maker/seller? Also, I've seen repro guns for Secto Viper that are identical...is this becoming more pervasive, and what do I look for to spot a repro gun, if anything?

most of that stuff you are seeing is being sold by rockhammer, his stuff is easy to spot because he uses two part squish together molds- and they only look like the real thing on the sides, the seams are thick, uneven and messy. here's a thread that might help you though:

here's a photo of the seams i am talking about:

interestingly though, the mic he sells as a reproduction heavy metal mic is actually a reproduction marauders inc mic, which is a custom:confused:

Thanks, Man. This is/will be helpful. I just thank God that I have most of the '82-'89 stuff already. The only thing I need to worry about is repro mics. I have a mint Heavy Metal, but bought a repro mic, as I can't justify the insane amount of money to buy a Mauler MISB, especially since I already have a mint version.

There is a custom website that sells about 5 or 6 different mic repros. They are cast in colors just different enough to make sure they aren't easily passed of as legit ones.

I don't care too much is they are repro's cuz it's for my personal collection. Also, years ago I found a site that did these and they even had chainsaws but the site is gone and I was wondering if anyone knew of a place I can get custom B.A.T. hands?

That Heavy Metal mic looks like its made from a Tootsie Roll! The color is perfect.

I didn't know if I start a new thread. I'll tag at the end of this one.

I just got a nice deal on a mauler that is "only missing an antenna". Here is one of the pics I have from the seller. He says it comes with "original thin brown mic." I hope so...

Does it look original to everyone? If it isn't, it's pretty darn good re-pro IMO.

Yes, the match in color to the helmet looks perfect, that's hard to replicate. The reproductions I have seen are usually a shade darker.

Well I appreciate the second opinion! I can finally scratch this accessory off the list. I've been collecting forever and this is one of those items that I have just never filled. Awesome!

That is a great accomplishment! I have pretty much given up on this one and the Hard Top mic. I have reproductions of both and I have been very satisfied with them. It's hard to think I'd be getting an original at this point anyway. But yes, I am certain that is an original mic for your Heavy Metal... Congrats!

funny how people say original when any mold is just a copy of the previous mold.....i think if repro parts look identicle.....go for it.
