I came across a new eBay error you may want to know about.

I recently received a carbon copy of a question to seller email in my inbox. It was to seller about a camera piece and I never emailed that seller even though the email appeared to be from me. I was afraid for a moment my eBay account had been hacked and emailed customer support about this.

Here is their response. It is interesting and I thought you might want to know in case this ever happens to you.

<BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR> Hello,

Thank you for reporting this email to us. I am sure it has caused you
some confusion!

We did some investigating and this is what we found. The email you
received appears to be a technical issue within our Email Forwarding
System (EFS). We have recently discovered that EFS messages sent at the
exact same second, causes our system to occasionally switch the
messages. If you recently sent an EFS message and received this "carbon
copied" email instead, then this is surely the cause.

You can assume that the original email you sent did not reach the
original member. You will want to re-send your message to them. We are
working vigorously to address this issue, but let me assure you that
these emails pose no threat to your eBay account security. You can
safely delete this email from your records.

Thank you again for reporting this email. We appreciate your assistance
in identifying this issue. Your efforts are the key to keep eBay a safe
and fun place to trade!

Regards,

Langjai
