what should I mold and cast first? I'm thinking a Crimson Guard head for swapping with Agent Faces, but beyond that, I'm taking suggestions! Maybe a BAT v1 hand attachment hmmmmm.

Joeczar,

Where can one purchase a casting kit?

How much is it?

Is it easy/difficult to cast something?

Thanks!

For info on making your own molds and castings, go to:
www.miniaturemolds.com (http://www.miniaturemolds.com)

and then click on "Alumilite". They have casting kits for sale, as well as instructions for how to do it. I can't wait until mine arrives, I think the CG heads will be first, I'll let everyone know how it turns out! I'm also thinking about attempting the cockpit canopy for the Defiant/Crusader and the Rattler, does anyone have a spare Rattler canopy cover I could buy?

How come no one tries to make a whole figure with one of those?

I think the biggest problem with doing an entire figure is the arms. You could cast the arms with no articulation, but to make them move you need to figure out how to cast the swivel arm battle grip and insert the rivets.

Actually, it's been done. The guy on Ebay who casts heads, did a whole Viper just to prove it could be done. There is a company whole sells the rivets and insert tool, and you can pretty much get everything else. Also, J&R is offering a Viper legs/waist kit that is fully articulated to fix the Vipers that Hasbro has been pushing on us the last two years.

They are also offering a Rattler canopy and cradle.

That's cool. J&R is now on my Favorites list.

Anybody know how to cast vehicles, either old stuff or brand-new prototypes?

If you have access to them, the mic's to Heavy Metal, Lift Ticket, Sneak Peek, and Hardtop.

I have the kit, let the casting begin! Here's what I have planned:

Crimson Guard head
Cobra Trooper head
Viper waist & Legs (The good ones)
I have a Hardtop mic, I'll give it a try

I'll let everyone know how it goes!

I need Hardtop's pistol too, if you have it. Please let me know!

DO THE HARDTOP MIC LAST!

I've heard it IS possible to ruin your original piece casting. Get a few trials under your belt before you attempt with something that hard to find.
