My wife is a craftsy type...likes to paint. I put this to use, by having her paint Joes. She enjoys it and I get Joes...pretty good trade off. Anyway, some of you have seen her first work. It's a Snow Paw with a Snow Serpent Leader. It's for my Cobra snow troops. Nice paint job..sticking well, decent detail on the figure.

Her newest re-paint is a v1 A.W.E. Striker in desert camo w/ a repainted Dial-Tone (one of my fave figs). Check out the pics...LMK what you think.

Thanks,
etmartin

Hey, these are not bad for a first effort. The artic trooper is especially good. I would suggest taking a look at actual camo patterns on the internet to see how the camo would actually look. Also, try using a dry-brush technique to feather the edges a bit more. Very good first effort, and I look forward to seeing more!

Thats actually pretty cool the fact that ur wife is cool about ur joes. I am not married, but if i was it would be real cool if my wife was that accepting of ur collection. My girlfriend is kinda cool with my joes too, she even offred to build me a wire fence for my Joe base. Hopefully i show her this and she will actually go through with it.

P.S. The repaints looks pretty good to me, the white and grey one would look real cool with Windchill v1.

great job! my first custom was an arctic set like yours. I chose a straight white with grey highlights and lots of drybrushing like Alyosha mentions. I also did a Arctic Night Viper type of figure.
a couple of questions for you.
where did you get a spare decimator head? (i have been trying to get my hands on a cheap one forever)
what torso is that - I can't place it

Like 'em too. Great job. Doubt I'll ever be that good of a painter.

Thanks for looking at the repaints. I'll have my wife read over the comments.

Alyosha...thanks for the tips. Is there a good website that discusses techniques that I could direct her too?

As for the parts...the Decimator head was conveniently attached to a Hawk body (I believe) in an ebay lot I bought for real cheap. It looks good on the figure.

The chest is that of a '93-93 Roadblock, the legs are from a '90 bullhorn...and the arms, I'm not sure where they came from. I'm searching for that still.

Thanks,
etmartin
