\r\n \r\n Hi Folks. My name is Jeff. I\'m in the car business in the Dallas area. I\'ve just recently gotten back into Joes. I had a lot of my originals from 82-85 up until the mid 90s. I decided to sell all of them and invest in the new at the time Star Wars figures. What a mistake. I\'ve decided to try and piece my original collection back together and add the ones that I never could get. To this day, I\'m still haunted by the memory of a pallet of Flaggs being marked down to $75 at the local Wal-Mart when I was kid. Even at that price, I couldn\'t convince my Mom to get one. Maybe someday...\r\n \r\n

\nMy name is Homer and I have been a Joe fan since the 3 3/4 figures were introduced in 1982. I got hooked on the cartoon and had to have the figures and vehicles. I had a great collection of about 14 vehicles and 50+ figures. I had most of the first three years of figures and then all of 85 and 86. I eventually got older and space was tight in the house, so I took them to a flea market and sold them for like $50 for the whole lot(I still kick myself today). Anyway I have been collecting some figures and have started parting with extras recently on eBay and have some posted here on the marketplace. G.I. Joe and Transformers were my childhood and will always hold a dear place in my heart, no matter how weird the new figures look.

\nMy is Al and I have been collecting Joes for the better part of 25 years. I still have all my figures from when I was a kid back in the early \'80s. I first started hitting up the flea markets and had found some mail order catalogs that sold loose figures, so my collecting was really just pitiful and it was a pain to get them all until the latter part of the \'90s when eBay kicked my collecting bug into full throttle. I have pretty much all of the figures loose... yes i would buy them and open them up to just put them in storage. Now i have the MOC bug and i am trying to re-complete my collection. I am only looking for the figures so any vehicles or play sets that did not come with one, I would turn down. But it seems like everything made now a days comes with a figure, so being a completest , i have to get them all. The only major problem has been that I am in the USAF and have deployed several times and missed out on some of the waves and I just returned not to long ago just to find out that GI Joe is MIA in all the major outlets. I only hope that it changes for the holiday seasons.

\nSorry to ramble, but I wanted to tell everyone a little about myself. I enjoy surfing the web for Joe related news and items, so I hope to be a major player in keeping the site updated with the news I find.

I have been collecting for a long time. The first ones were Christmas presents. Saving up paper route and snow shoveling money to buy figures....good times. I am starting to display and pull out my collection to sort out the madness. I posted some pics on my profile page-I don\'t know if everyone can see them or not. It helps living in Cincinnati and flinging ex employees who have gems hidden from there glory days. It also helps belonging to a great site such as this one. I use to be a stickler on stoping my collection at 1986. V1 bats are a weakness and I have over 120 in my collection and working on a diorama as we type. I can\'t wait for the tru arctic bats to come out.I have gained a respect for the newer figures and opened my collection to them. I love customs too and have a lot of projects in works. I have always liked bad guys over good. Everyone always had the same figures and vehicles growing up. I was the only kid who wanted to be the bad guy. Mission accomplished.\r\n \r\n

\nJust wanted to say hello. I\'ve been a collector since \'82, dropped off after \'94 and with the 25th have been back collecting. I finally join this site last year and have started (slowly) to add my collection.
\nI do have a quick question. Tonight I recently upgraded my account from the basic to Option 1. Does this upgrade usually happen immediately after payment etc or does it take a few days? Thanks!

\r\n \r\n I just wanted to say hi to the forum and I had some questions that are probably pretty basic and newbie of me, but I couldn\'t find the answers while looking through the site....so here we go.

\n1) I recently decided to sell my G.I. Joe vehicles from 1985-1990. Can someone explain how the marketplace system works? I tried clicking on an item just to see what happens, and it said "Are you sure you want to buy this?". I was just looking around so I didn\'t click on "ok". What happens if I hit "ok"? Are prices negotiable through the marketplace? Is shipping just handled through contact with the seller?

\n2) Do I have to sell my items through the marketplace or can I post a thread in the "for sale" section?
\n
\n3) How does the selling fee work and how do I pay it (I signed up under the "basic" plan)? Who does that go to (I\'m assuming yojoe.com)?

\n4) What are the general Pros / Cons of using the marketplace vs. the forum?

\nSorry, I know these are probably stupid questions but I never tried to sell anything online before. I\'m hoping to sell my items to people who will appreciate them as much as I did and so I thought I would start here before trying ebay or craigslist.

\nSo, earlier this week, I felt the urge to look at G.I. Joe figures for the first time since I was a child. I was born in Wisconsin in 1971, so I started playing with Joes right about when the 3 3/4" figures hit the market for the very first time. Back in the old days when the figures were simple, and couldn\'t be articulated basically at all. But they were still great. I played Joes with three or four of my friends. By the time I was done 3 or 4 years later, I had enough figures and vehicles where I could have shot a movie myself, if only I had a camera!
\n
\nI decided to get back into collecting because I wanted a new hobby. Unfortunately, I have far too much time on my hands now, so I figured, why not? About five years ago, I hurt my back helping my then girlfriend move into her new home, and I am now on permanent disability because of my back. I spend the vast majority of my day in bed watching tv, trying to keep comfortable with the pain medications they prescribe me. So, this should be right up my alley. I can collect, or work on custom figures. I can also render my creations in Photoshop.

\nI moved to Texas in 1989 with my family. After finishing my education, majoring in political science, and minoring in economics, I bounced between a few jobs before finally moving forward. I got my NASD licenses, and became a stockbroker. I loved my job, and wish I could still work. I am hoping this will help fill my time creatively.

\nSo, that\'s a bit about me. I am a huge baseball and football fan, especially my Brewers and Packers. I also play the guitar, too. I am classically trained, playing a Yamaha nylon string classical, and progressive rock/metal on an Ibanez S series custom.

welcome to the boards ! Just wanted to give you a F.Y.I (if you didn\'t know already??) CTS is a toy show that happens about every fall(I think ?) in Columbus, Ohio . They have it in Cincinnati as well but it is well worth your time to check out the toy show , if you have the opportunity ? just google "CTS toy shows in Ohio" for more details . there\'s quite a few forum members from Ohio I think , getting to know them will help you with your collection & info - GOOD LUCK !!\r\n \r\n

\r\n \r\n New subscriber to the site, worth the $3 a month. Played G.I Joes my entire childhood since the first ones came out. Recently I have been obsessing with G.I Joe and have been buying up Joes and Vehicles on Ebay and looking for Stores in my area and buying there too. Every morning I watch one episode of G.I Joe cartoons while getting ready for work starting with Season 1 Episode 1 on watchcartoonsonline.com. As I kid I could never finish a G.I Joe cartoon in the morning because I had to leave the house to catch my school bus. I have a to learn about collecting but I mainly collect because of my love of the toys. Seeing G.I Joes bring back so many childhood flashbacks.\r\n \r\n

As others have mentioned it seems a lot quieter than it used to be. I\'m returning to the boards after a few years of slow collecting (one or two small lots a year). I\'ve recently started narrowing down the last 50 or so figures from the original run (that\'s just the figures incomplete almost finished the daunting 93 year). Hope to hear from and meet some new Gi Joe collectors. I haven\'t posted to much in the past but am looking to become more involved in the online community.
