Hasbro's missed opportunity (Dreadnok HISS art)

I whipped this up the other day as a color scheme demo for a possible custom and it went a little further than I had intended at first. By the end I had finished a complete box art for a special Dreadnok HISS. The point of the color scheme was to match the Sears Ground Assault vehicle and arrange the colors in a way that could be achieved from the factory. This meant that any parts that came on the same parts tree (sprue) would need to be the same color. The main body was colored dark blue with the turret and the track assembly in medium green with a black paint app for the treads and wheels. The cannons and the retainer clip come from a single sprue so would both be lime green.

This started out as a large picture of the HISS art without any of the JOE logos or text added, so I was able to add all my own stuff to the box to make it look legit. The pilot was a loose figure with added red background and border applied so it lookes like a figure bubble. I would have created a custom driver, but when you already have a guy named "Ripper" its just too perfect to pass up given the name of the tank. I might give him a different color shirt and glasses at some point but he will keep his code name.

Sweet! I could see Hasbro putting this together with another vehicle back in the 80's, say an asp or something.

Or instead of an asp....say a stolen Joe vehicle like the Whirlwind! That would look sweet together as a dreadnok set!

Hehe, thanks a bunch guys, glad you like it! Imagine our mom's faces if we all came running up holding this box at the toy store.

OMG! Thats a great idea! The two Sears sets both had one Joe and one Cobra vehicle, this could be the same. The Joe vehicle would be the towed Mountain Howitzer: F.L.A.T.C.H. (Field Light Artillery Tactical Combat Howitzer). I may have to get to work on some box art for it first chance I get.

    Nice work.

You could change Ripper's hair color to brown...since Hasbro liked to do that for no reason.

You could've added the MMS as the Guided Anti-aircraft System (G.A.S.)
