Very interesting is the fact that the whole special unit vs terrorists theme of G.I .Joe was transferred to a distant science fiction setting. War themed toys were not very popular with the parents back then. So the line was very hard to get in germany. I remember seeing them in Toys r Us and in big department store chains like Karstadt and Plaza. ( I have some boxed items with price stickers from both) The first time I went to Toys r Us and saw a full shelf of this figures and vehicles I was blown away. Apart from these there were not many stores you could get G.I. Joe / Action Force in germany at that time. In conclusion: These carded figures are ultra rare.

As a native german speker I have provided another translation down below.

    THE STORY!

In the year 2100 there are already many inhabited planets in space. To protect those who are living there, a squad of specialists was created; these are good and brave men who guard and protect all inhabitated planets. They are stationed everywhere where the danger of an interplanetary attack is imminent.

Of course super technical systems and vehicles stand at their disposal.

The „“Cobras“ are living at the same time on the distant planet SARBO. They are trying over and over again to become the sole rulers of all planets. Due to their partially miraculous ability to disguise they are hard to recognize when they are acting as spies.

Due to the capture of a Cobra whose job as a spy was to locate the training center it is revealed that an attack is imminent. Now everybody is on full alert. The development department is working at full speed on a space station to intercept the combative Cobras.

    The battle against time begins...

Is it just me or does that German stuff sound very much like the summary for Star Brigade? I remember there at the end they had aliens coming from other galaxies to fight Joe and even the Blackstar that was an alien pilot working for Cobra. Maybe these figures got resold somehow along side the Star Brigade line and this sticker was added to make them fit in better. Just speculating here of course.

Hi, it is nice to read an opinion and a translation from a German collector. Do you have more friends from Germany that might know more about this French/German Snake Eyes? Thank you very much KROENEN!!

You are right that the story is sounding a bit similar but there are some facts which contradict that suggestion.

    1) Both figures (I have seen three so far: 1 x Snake Eyes / 2 x Lady Jaye) with these german stickers are french 1986 editions. The Star Brigade stuff was sold in 1993, that is a huge time gap especially for toy lines. Usually all the inventory would have been sold already.
    2) Why was there not put a sticker on it with the Star Brigade Logo similar to the 1993 cards.
    3) Despite the similarities there are more differences in the story. The planet SARBO for example is not part of the Star Brigade story

No problem. I am pretty sure these figures were sold in 1986 or maybe 1987 in Germany and the story with the sci-fi background was used because war themed toys did not sell wery well back then in germany. Sci-fi toys like Star Wars were still on sale or a at least considered to be more child friendly than war toys back then. So they kind of transferred the setting of GI Joe into space. I am trying hard to get more info on them and I am working on a complete list which Action Force / G.I. Joe stuff was released in Germany.

I just aquired a Lady Jaye and as I said is it just one of three examples (1x Snake Eyes + 2 x Lady Jaye) I have seen so far!

Here are the pictures of the Lady Jaye from my collection, as you can see the identical sticker and even the way it is placed is identical too.
