Another update, this time with a kind of unusual concept the JoeDeclassified posted and identified as Hawk. I've also tweaked my Greenshirt to look a bit better:

...AND another update, this time with the female Dial-tone dressed like the original, and a new (Cadet) Deming design.

That Hawk kinda looks like the PoC version ready for some Desert Operations.

And I've always been a Dial Tone fan. Didn't get the RoC version cause it was a girl and I don't mind ethnicity changes, but sex changes I'm not ready for lol. That being said, your design is actually kinda cool.

Just think how socially progressive it would have been if they told us that that character actually WAS Dial-tone after a "sex change."

One of the most obscure G.I. Joe characters out there shows up and speaks in one episode of the old cartoon series. In “Lasers in the Night,” Lady Jaye talks to Alice, the technician working on her Skystriker. It’s strange for one of the support staff to get a name and some lines, but Alice was singled out for some reason.

First, we have Alice as she originally appeared, and then I gave her a full-Joe redesign as a “Battlefield Technician.” Sort of the G.I. Joe version of the Techno-Viper. I didn’t come up with a code name for her, but feel free to make up your own!

Raptor is way up at the top of the list of most ridiculously dressed G.I. Joe figure. He is basically 100% comic book super villain. Here’s a new version of Raptor that makes him into a flying soldier with backpack glider. No feathers in sight.

Ridiculous Dress or not OF the 4 total Oddball Figures in Cobra's ranks in 1987 (Raptor, Crystal Ball, Big Boa, and Croc Master) Raptor was the only one I took the time to buy back when Reagan was in office. For some reason Welkin the feathers really Defined Raptor. The New Realistic Raptor is basically a Flying Soldier with Backpack Glider. Raptor's feathered suit was for the benefit of his birds. I don't think he ever intended to fly on his own.
IF what I have to say sounded harsh Maybe I'm simply part of a minority that actually liked him.

I don't hate any of those characters really. And the Marvel comic had a little fun with Raptor. This design's more of an alternate version of Raptor, and not meant to really insult the character.

In some cases, I think trying to make things too grounded in G.I. Joe is a mistake. G.I. Joe is meant to have some fun, over the top elements to it. Kind of the reason I don't like IDW's most recent relaunch. It so "real world" that it bores me.

Well, Raptor certainly leaves his old design in the dust, lol. But I dig that it's got a Marvel's Falcon sort of feel. You know, by losing the feathered arms look and going with a jetpack. I actually would probably buy this guy.

Here’s a little experiment with something new on the site. While not including original concepts, this is a character design timeline for Grunt, with eleven different looks for the character over the years. With Grunt being a smaller profile character, just imagine how many looks for a character like Duke we could end up with. Opinions on whether this is a series that people may be interested in are greatly appreciated!
