Snake Eyes Agent of Cobra 1

    *****possible spoilers in thread*****

Looks like we will, slowly, if we do at all, learn why Snake Eyes is in Cobra.
The issue starts out with Snake Eyes already working for Cobra.
He frees Destro, and we learn a lot about IDW Destro, a bit of his origin and just how much of a super villain that steel suit makes him.
Some clear guidelines are laid out as to what we will see in the series.
It is tied to events that wrapped up the Cobra series involving two of those characters, this firmly entrenches the story with the IDW universe.
The cobra symbol replacing the Arashikage symbol on the sword is very interesting. Destro's reply to this obvious betrayal of the Arashikage and decades of loyalty and heritage, is both dismissive and indicative of his suspicions. Destro does not trust Snake Eyes just yet.
Seeing Snake Eyes first mission from Destro and the target's nonchalance and lack of any loyalty to either side shows a new side to that character.

I was amused by the interaction between Destro and Snake Eyes. Destro does a lot of talking and Snake Eyes just stands around waiting for him to finish. Kind of a switch. Usually we see Snake Eyes let loose like a wild animal on a mission. Cobra, or Destro in particular, are not going to treat him like a super soldier or a wind up toy you point at a target and let fly.
Like Destro says, Snake Eyes is a tool.

So far, Chameleon is turning out to be Costa's favorite character. He has used her in every series...
