What is the mib cutoff point ?

I have a vehicle from 1985 with tape peeling. That being said; 85 and earlier would be not sealed. are there any mib that would indicate the point at which you could determine original sealed items ?

MIB just means Mint in Box/Bag so in my opinion so long as the contents are intact and still in there original Bags it's still mib. Now MISB or Mint in Sealed Box is another story. In my opinion peeling tape is an orange flag as far as MISB is concerned since one could question whether the box was opened at some point or not especially if some of the box surface is coming loose with the tape.

I always open my sealed boxes. To me personally, I find it more valuable when I can see what's in the box.
