    Questions about funskool variants?

I just bought a Star Brigade collection and it included foreign figures. I recieved 2 different Countdowns(combat astronaut) and 2 different Sci Fi's(star brigade pilot). One of the countdowns had an Ice Cream Soldier launcher. I was told this was rare. On the Sci Fi's, one has a pink belt and the other has a purple belt. So, my questions to you all, how rare are these and what possible value do they have? Thanks

This figures don't sound like the hard to find ones like from the first few years of the Funskool run. Funskool's problem is that they have too many repaints to keep track of. It wasn't until Derek and Ron's book when I noticed the amount of varients or what I call them as screw ups. As for value, that is open to debate.

According to the info Derek and I researched for our book, both of those figure variants were the earlier released ones. The Countdown should be more desirable (thus more valuable) since there is a solid, physical difference in accessories. The Sci-Fi was more of a shade / color variance that could be explained by poor quality control with the paint mask colors bleeding lighter or darker. We seen some characters like that vary from production to production run. The Sci-Fi may also have red chest grenades or orange grenades. We consolidated the variations as much as we could and came up with 3 variations
    (a) with pink belt, and red grenades,
    (b) purple belt, with orange grenades
    (c) the bagged vehicle driver with SILVER MOLDED lower arms and no paint ops, with a purple belt.

Who know, you might come across something totally different....a variation(d). Funskool is known for coming out with small runs having some kind of color, or mold variation from the earlier production run. It is probably impossible to know about them all. Happy collecting!

Thanks Ron. That was the info I was waiting for. The Sci-Fi with purple belt has red grenades. IF you would like photos let me know.

Great, please send me an email when you get time. I would love to see him. Also, if you have the date code on the back of the package, that would be cool too. We are tracking date codes.
