You do realize that before these chapters get published, that me and my wife go through them with me doing the voices and her telling me what sounds right and what dosen't. I know exactly what you mean, if I can't imagine Destro or the Commander saying something then it doesn't ever make it to the finshed product.

Is Pitfall a self-custom?

Hmmm? Actually he was at the time of his creation. I had the same haircut at the time but not so much of the hard details in the face. There's always that part of you that would have done everything different, would have said something different and would have acted differently, always in retrospect and I guess in a way that's my relationship to Pitfall. What made you ask?


His character itself comes from a lot of different characters that I admired through the years. I'll tell you that one of his biggest lenders of characterization comes from Martin Sheen, in "Apocalypse Now". I remember watching that movie years ago and thinking, what would this character be if he existed today and what would he do after the war? Pitfall was a big part of that.

Well, he seems to be your main character, and a customized one at that

Tim's Corner* has the Reverend*, and if you look at his main website he is
very Christian so am guessing that TOO is a self custom

I think most authors create characters that they can relate to. Most authors will always have a character in their story that promotes the plot along and that character is almost always a part of their pysche. Unfortunatly, when you write something like a GI Joe story, it ends up very hard to write a good story because you're using characters that have already been developed in other people's minds. I'd like to think that my stories are good mainly because I'm willing to add to characters and develope my own.

But like I said, although Pitfall had the same Haircut as me when I created the figure, the character himself is a far strech.
