Buy them from smalljoes.com or gijoeheaven.com
\n
\nI tried to buy them myself at a hardware store and they were more expensive and harder to find the quantity then just buying them online.\r\n

\r\n Repairing swivel arm battle grip and straight arm\r\n

    \r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n \r\n
    \r\n
    \r\n
\r\n So, I came up with another effective way to fix swivel arm and straight elbow joints.
    \n
\nI went to a sewing store and purchased the smallest gage of clear nylon thread that they sell. . .I guess it\'s used for quilt making. It works great!
    \n
\nI just cut off about a 4in strand, put the swivel joint in the middle of the thread. Then, criss-cross the ends once, and then tie a double knot (or square knot). Whola! You\'re done. Sometimes the joint is still loose, so, just wrap them to the back side of the arm and tie another double knot. The same procedure works for the straight arm elbows too, just go slow and make sure the thread is following in the groove.
    \n
\nOnce the joint seems tight enough (only test it once the knot is tied, otherwise it will come unravelled), I use a pair of fingernail clippers to cut off the ends close to the figure. Sometimes I need to use a blade to tuck the string in the joint, but usually not.
    \n
    \nHope this helps.\r\n

\r\n My Nullifier\'s j hook was broken when I took my Joes out of storage. And yes his o-ring seemed fatter and dusty looking. I had a Corps! figure make a j hook donation to repair it. Where is the Black Major getting his j hooks from?\r\n

    \r\n O-ring replacement!\r\n

    \r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n \r\n

    \r\n
\r\n If the o-ring comes from figure that was glued there is no need to boiling that and (and the end) put it apart. There is one smart move. You know that standard o-ring is size 3/4 inch, the same as tap seal, you may get at home depo or shop like that. If it comes to glued torso You have to buy 1/2 inch seal (a little bigger). You will not hook it for the hook (forgive my any language mistakes) but the rubber will hold legs directly by the straight piece between legs. One "end" You hook beneath that piece (between legs) and to the second one You attach thin fishing line and with its help You are searching your way over the piece connecting both pieces of torso, thru mechanism (for Ninja Force). Then You pull it out on the other side and strecht the rubber. You are finishin the movment with the same step as at the beggining. It\'s easier to say that to do that but the new o-ring holds excellent, believe me. If that\'s unclear in any way I may send You a photo with repaired figure. If You have any other problems just write me. I have big experience in repairing figures and vehicles and have detailed guide made by myself.\r\n

\r\n Any good suggestions for removing the hats from Gung Ho v2 or Shipwreck v1? I of course have thought of using hot water, or of carving out the head, but thought I would see if anyone had another method.\r\n

\r\n GH\'s dress blues hat is just glued on; it\'s not part of the mold. (It looks like he has unpainted hair underneath, so not that attractive.) Mine simply came off when the figure fell onto a hard surface back around 1990, so I treat it like a removable accessory.

\nHot water might work, or you might try just pulling on it.\r\n

\r\n I\'ve seen the question asked quite a few times, but I\'ve never found the answer: What size are the torso screws in a 3 3/4" Joe?
    \r\n
\r\nI know that the screws are 1/4" stainless steel, pan-headed sheet metal screws, but I can\'t tell the diameter. If I measure in metric, they look like #2 screws and if I measure in inches, they look like #3. Short of buying a micrometer, does anyone know where I could find this out?\r\n

\r\n What is the best method for getting sun damage out of plastics? Storm Shadow V1, sadly, appears to have soiled himself. I\'d also eventually like to refresh my Skystriker. I\'ve heard that 3 and 30 % peroxide solutions work best? (First post. Yay!)\r\n

What is the best method for getting sun damage out of plastics? Storm Shadow V1, sadly, appears to have soiled himself. I\'d also eventually like to refresh my Skystriker. I\'ve heard that 3 and 30 % peroxide solutions work best? (First post. Yay!)

I\'ve actually done this with success. A warning about Storm Shadow: the red emblem with become bright pink.

\nI went to sally\'s beauty supply and purchased the 40% peroxide (i forget what they call it, just look for the big 40%) and then I got some oxy clean. You mix the two together and put it in a clear container and set it out in the sun for 8 hours and you\'d be amazed at the results. I forget the ratio of oxy to peroxide but if you go over to the hisstank forum i think they have it. If not the computer geeks use a similar technique to whiten the computer plastics. Just run a google search.\r\n

    \r\n Hey Guys,
\nRecently I noticed you can color over the shoulder and elbow rivets with a Sharpie- it doesn\'t seem to rub off, either. Obviously a drop of lacquer would be a safe bet.
\nSharpie has REALLY expanded their color palette too, so odds are you\'ll find something that works!\r\n

I would be carful doing it this way. I have found it best to put the waist and legs together, squeeze the o-ring down into the t-hook area and then use a little flat tip screw driver to get it in the hook. Doing it the way you\'ve mentioned above has led to a few "crotch" pieces flying across the room and a really nasty feeling in the pit of my stomach.\r\n

\r\n I take it you are referring to the broken o-ring situation? I do believe that you can fish a larger o-ring over the top of where the original o-ring would be and attach it to the t-bar. I\'m not sure how accurate that description is, but I thought that was how I have heard it done.\r\n

I take it you are referring to the broken o-ring situation? I do believe that you can fish a larger o-ring over the top of where the original o-ring would be and attach it to the t-bar. I\'m not sure how accurate that description is, but I thought that was how I have heard it done.

I might try a thinner, longer o-ring that could work! I don\'t collect them but I think I have a few good ones to sell. I would disclose the fixing before selling though.\r\n

\r\n After some thought and experimenting I found a solid way to repare the fixation points on the Defiant crawler where the 2 springs attach to the elevating beams.
    \r\n
\r\nPictures say more then words, so here goes:
    \r\n
\r\nThe part should look like this originally:
    \r\n
    \r\n
\r\nPerhaps because of the (continuous) stress over the years, or just improper use of the crank (anyone any ideas?), these fixation points are often found broken. To make the fixation point really solid, I removed the broken piece altogether and made a hole in the elevating beam to enable placement of a hook that\'s held in place with a screw. This hook is the kind that\'s normally used as part of a system to hang paintings on the wall. This is how the elevating beam looks with the hook in place:
    \r\n
    \r\n
\r\nIn order for the spring to stay attached in the raised mode of the gantry (this is the mode in which the springs are more or less in a relax position), I just used some tape with a solid piece of ... (just about any material can be used) in it to fill the gap of the hook. I\'m sure there are other ways as well, but this works just fine.
    \r\n
    \r\n
\r\nThe size of this hook shortens the distance between fixation points a bit, which reduces the stress on the opposite fixation point (i.e. the grey bar to which the other end of the spring is attached, not visible in picture).
    \r\n
\r\nAs a final note, my entire Defiant rests on a piece of board (1,8 cm. height), on 1 end a piece of wood (5 cm. height) is placed on top of the board (so 1 end is 1,8 cm. and the other 6,8 cm. height). The board itself is 32 cm. long and wide (square). It\'s a simple and effective way to keep the crawler wheels in good shape:
