In your opinion what are some of the best collectibles EVER?

I'm making a list of my favorite 10 collectibles of all time and I'm curious what everyone's favorites are. I'm not going to post mine yet because I don't want to influence the responses.

Please reply and let me know!

What I am primarily talking is G.I. Joe items other than the toys like paperwork, toothpaste, stickers, role-playing sets, tents, statues, etc. Basically, items in here:

Good topic! I went by a few criteria... 1) What I currently have that is not one of the 3.75 inch toys or vehicles, but gives me the most entertainment and 2) What I have been exposed to and am enjoying being on the hunt for.

    1) GI Joe Comics - 'Nuff said.
    2) GI Joe Cartoon DVD's (c'mon Sony - release the last episodes!)
    3) Original 80's Joe Posters (wall posters given as magazine inserts, fan club, etc.)
    4) GI Joe Video Games [Nintendo and Atari] - have played, but haven't acquired yet
    5) Modern Diamond Select items, such as the Cobra Emplem Wall Plaque
    6) Off-Brand 80's items made to go with the Joes, and marketed with them - such as the 83 Sears remote controlled tank - have 2 C-9 ones
    7) GI Joe Sheets [make great dust covers for larger toys and displays]
    8) Impel Cards
    9) Modern Heat-Sealed Embroidered patches (I have some cobra emblems)
    10) GI Joe Coin-Op Arcade Game - have played, but haven't acquired yet

    Thumbs up Just 10?????

Hmm, let me think about this one...
WANTED: Rise of Cobra & Retailiation movie memoriabilia (from scripts and production items, props, to movie and billboard banners, store signage and larger items!). TOP $

Hasbro Items: Paperwork & design sketches, ARTWORK, licensing books, promo flyers/slicks, employee items, presentation art.

Licensed Merchandise (non-figure/vehicle) like towels, Coleco ride-on toys (sleds or bicycles) , vintage child clothing, and an original Konami Arcade game.

You're the guy with my favorite collecting focus: I think you are. I know there was somebody on this board who was really great about paperwork, promotionals, licensed merchendise etc.

I love your collection.... and you met Sherman Hemsley!

I can't really say I what I fancy besides G.I. Joe figures and their accesories as I don't collect the other stuff. I love brochures, file cards, cardbacks, combat pay and so on... but I haven't got much of it.

I don't think it counts, but originally my focus was file cards. I completed my file card collection long before my figure collection and I'd give up figures before I would ever let go of a good file card. In fact, even after I sold most of my post-1992 figures I kept all of the file cards.

I tried really hard to keep the list away from paperwork which is actually my favorite and I also tried to only include vintage items. Of course there are a lot of recent collectibles that are awesome as well like the statues, busts, swords, etc. Some more collectibles I think are iconic enough to be in the top 15 are:

    Tyco Train set
    http://yojoe.com/archive/nottoys/trainset-can.shtml

    Tyco Tuck set

Arcade game (another one I'll pick up when I have more room!)
    http://yojoe.com/archive/games/arcade.shtml

Of course there are others but the list would go on and on...just some of my favorites!

The Cobra Saboteur Kit is Beautiful.

I have a pile of those MB cards that I haven’t a clue how I came across, but I love the card and box art cards and I have tried, in vain, to get more…. But, they’re quite elusive & usually expensive. It has actually been easier to collect the empty vehicle boxes themselves... which has steadily become my focus. I love the vintage ARAH box art: especially '83 to '85.

I have one or two things from your list but some of it I have never seen for sale. I have the arcade game and both of the NES games on my computer.
