    What's the deal with Funskool?

What's the deal with Funskool? I've heard the term but I don't get it. Are Funskool figs knock-offs? Inferior versions? Superior versions? More expensive? Less expensive?

Less expressive, they were licensed by Hasbro and were made by Funskool (a subsidiary of Madras Rubber Factory [MRF]) in India.

The quality of the plastic and paint apps is generally considered to be inferior to old school RAH GI Joes (Softer plastic, poorer paint apps, etc.)

But to me the Funskhool figures seem to be of about the same quality as the newer Gi Joe figures (the new sculpts, and RAH reissues they have made the past few years)

All in all I think they make a nice adition to a Joe collection

Smalljoes has quite a few of the figures if you want to check them out at retail

Honestly, I think that's giving Funskool quite a lot of credit... I've heard that the vehicles aren't so bad though (other than the sticker sheets).
    Currently Looking For:
An unbroken/mint; '83 HQ "base" (the big main part), 1 MG and 2 cameras; Brazil Gatilho.

According to Mike T, the quality of the figs depends on the production date stamped on the cardback. He says anything produced after April 2003 is pretty good, as well as anything made in 2000 or earlier. These are not Hasbro quality, but are better than the Funskool figs produced between 2000 and April '03 (which are the dates that sellers have most of in stock)

Most of the Funskool figures that are currently available in large quantities are not expensive

Some of the older ones can be quite expensive
