Wild Bill vs Cobra Coils Variant?

Ok i know the seller of the item below and i have seen it in person. Anyone know anything about it? He got a case from Diamond Dist. It had 2 of every set and there were 2 Tan pants variants of Wild Bill. he sold one a month ago as a regular auction starting at $7.99 and was amazed it sold for $59. He put this up as a buy it now and it sold in a few hours.

It is version 10. The price probably reflects the fact that these cases didn't seem to ship for very long from Hasbro. A lot of other figures iirc were carried forward or had already been released. So this 2-pack didn't see retail for very long.

That's it exactly. These really weren't out long, & they were in smaller numbers than most of the rest of the VvsV waves, so it would've been easy to miss while on the shelves.

no, it wasn't a running change or a variant, it was a repaint released in an entirely different wave a year later. a running change would be a repaint or alteration released in the same wave, like the orange Alpine which was later replaced with the brown skinnned version.

the blue pants version was released as part of VvV wave 3. the tan pants was released with the imfamous VvV wave 6, and then in even smaller numbers than the rest. from all accounts, the WB/Coil Crusher repaint was available with the first shipments and then was replaced by another pack that I can't remember -- I think it was the BAT army builder pack from wave 5:
