I'd been watching that item for a little while.
BIN was $25, shipping was $15 for a total of $40.

Then I see it's sold, for a Best Offer of $42?????
That doesn't make any sense - wouldn't the buyer have been able to simply "Buy It Now" for $25?

I'm curious, it doesn't mesh.

Anyone know what happened there?

I've never seen that. I've seen plenty of auctions where the BIN was not used and then it was bid up to a price that was more than the BIN (because the BIN disappeared after the first bid). Who would willingly offer more than the BIN?

There has to be some shenanigans going on here between these two because the buyer is no newbie and can't be that dumb. There is no reason for doing this

That's odd, I can't think of a logic explanation for this. Maybe the buyer made his best offer and forgot about the BIN option, he must have realized later his big mistake

Maybe the guy is international and he is trying to cover the shipping charges with that. Weird tho.

my guess is he piggy backed some non ebay items with the order, that way he's covered if he has to file a claim
